Song of the chapter:
Amnesia by 5 Seconds of Summer-----------
The next few days were a blur for me. It was like I was lost without Ashton. All I did was eat, sleep and occasionally listen to the 5SOS CD he had given me. I was really starting to like the song, Amnesia. It explained how I felt about my last relationships (only in some parts). I wish I could wake up with amnesia.
Lizzie tried getting me to leave the house, to go shopping with her but I wouldn't budge. I didn't want to go anywhere.
About a week after Ashton left, I went upstairs to get myself some breakfast when I heard a knock on the door. I didn't hear anyone else running to the door, so I snuck a look through the peephole at the unexpected visitor.
It was a black haired blonde streaked guy. He was quite tall, about as tall as Ashton. He was darker skinned and god was he hot. I mean, I knew that I had a thing with Ashton but damn.
I opened the door slowly and stared at him. Luckily I looked half decent. "Hello?" I asked questioningly.
"Hey." He grinned. "Is Ash home?"
"Excuse me?" How did he know Ashton?
"Ashton. Curly hair, tall, big hands and feet, usually wears a bandana." Çalum described him.
"Yeah I know what he looks like. He's not here right now."
"Where is he then? I need to talk to him." Calum seemed insistent on wanting to talk to him.
"He's in Australia. Dealing with some family business."
Calums face fell. "His mum's not doing too great, is she?"
I narrowed my eyes. "How do you know his mom is sick?"
Calum chuckled. "I've known Ashton forever. We're pretty much brothers."
Ashton never said anything about him.
"How did you meet?"
"We needed a drummer and Ashton offered to help us."
"Who's 'we'" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Uhh--me and the band?" Calum seemed to think that I asked a stupid question.
"The band?" What the hell was he talking about?
"Ashton didn't tell you? He's part of a band. Our band." Calum chuckled.
"No, he didn't say anything about that." I ran a hand through my hair, trying to get rid of some knots. "What's your band called?"
"5 Seconds of Summer."
I narrowed my eyes. "Lies."
"No, I am not lying." He got defensive and glared at me. "I would not lie about something like that. Ask Ashton if you don't believe me."
I snorted. "Uhh--you sure you want me to? Ashton has been keeping this a secret from me so he might say you're lying if he really doesn't want me to know."
Calum sighed in agreement. "Okay, never mind. I'm just surprised that he didn't tell you. Are you his girlfriend?"
I honestly didn't know how to answer that. I mean, we kissed and all, but we hadn't really talked about the 'girlfriend/boyfriend' thing yet. I wasn't even sure we'd get to talking about that.
"I don't know." I murmured.
"Oh." Calum sensed that I didn't want to talk to him about it so he didn't press for any details. "I guess I better be going."
"Yeah, I guess you should." I whispered.
"Oh, and--" He had turned to walk away from the door but turned back to look at me. I realized he didn't know my name.
"Its Hazel. Yeah?"
"Ashton wouldn't not want to tell you that he's in a band just because. There's probably a good explanation for all this. Ashton is an honest guy but at the same time, he's not very open about personal stuff. It's very hard to get something out of him."
There better be a good explanation. I thought.
"I can tell he trusts you though and I can tell you two are quite close. He doesn't give up information about his mom to just anybody. You're a lucky girl, Hazel."
I smiled. "Thank you."
"Okay, well, I'll probably end up seeing you again some other time so until then, goodbye." He waved.
"See you later."
After Calum was off the porch, I closed the door, and leaned against it, lost in thought.
There's so much about Ashton that I don't know about. I realized. And I know some of it, I will never be able to get out of him.
