Stiles had escaped.
It was proving to be difficult to keep the boy in one spot, but all Lia could think about was the promise Scott was forced to make. Scott was meant to keep him in there. And yet, the Nogitsune had other plans.
Whilst Lia stayed close to Noah's side, covering her reasoning with lies claiming protection. When in reality she just wanted to be close to the last piece she had left of him. Since coming back from LA, on his trip to see the specialist, he had barely left her side.
Even staying on the couch in her living room.
He was worried sick about her.
Following his escape, Malia found Scott and gave him a photograph that she and Stiles had found. In the moments where he was lucid. The photo raised more questions than it answered, leading Scott and Kira on an interrogation of her parents. Needing to know more about the creature. And following the attack made on Mr Yukimura, it was about time they let go of the secret they kept close to their chests.
And now, Lia found herself curled up in Noah's office, Noah was looking between copies of the brain scans. Frown lines becoming ever more present as his concerned eyes flicked between the images.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you walk out with this. It's way above the legal voltage limit." Lia's eyes snapped up to see Chris and Derek stood before the new Deputy, the one who now sported a plaster over the top of his head. Curtsy of Kincaid.
"I only use it for hunting." Chris bit back, his tone flat and unimpressed. Aurelia snorted as she watched him and the Deputy begin to argue.
"Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure you could use it to jump-start a seven-four-seven." The Deputy sighed, holding up one of Argents electrified batons.
"This property belongs to me and the charges we dropped." Chris fought, reaching for the baton that was quickly moved from his reach. "Although, I'm not exactly sure who is responsible for that." Chris muttered under his breath.
Lia hadn't even noticed as Noah left the room, approaching the escalating situation before reaching for the baton. "I am. I'll take care of this, Parrish." He cut in, watching as Parrish moved the baton again. His eyebrow raising in shock.
"Sheriff, l'm not kidding. This thing is a few watts from being a lightsaber." Lia chuckled, before the pain in her chest tightened. If anything reminded her of Stiles, it would be Star Wars.
Her eyes stung with tears as she thought about the little debates they used to have about them.
Aurelia consistently fawning over Anakin, blushing over his beauty and how in another universe, he and Padmé would have lived happily together on Naboo. Whilst Stiles would surely get jealous, leading him to cough as he muttered 'child killer' to appease his feelings.
"I said I'll take care of it." Noah insisted, bring her attention back to the scene before her. Heading back into the office, Derek shot a comforting smile her way and Lia somewhat returned it.
"The specialist I saw in LA told me the
thing that every doctor says when he's trying to avoid a lawsuit, that he couldn't say for sure." Noah began, watching as Chris and Derek shared a look and moved closer to the desk. "And then I spoke with Melissa. These are brain scans. My wife's and Stiles. I knew they were similar. But those are the same." He explained pulling the scan from where he'd hidden them beneath some files. "Exactly the same.""And I'm guessing this isn't possible?" Derek spoke, his eyes trailing over the images. Noah was right, there wasn't a single thing different between them.
