Sat at the kitchen table, Aurelia fiddled with the rings on her hands. She had to remove herself from the room, just being in his presence terrified her. But she felt she needed to be there. For Stiles.
"How much longer do you think we have?" Scott asked as he entered the room with Deaton.
"I wish I knew." They all knew they couldn't keep him there much longer. "I think we're grossly underestimating the danger here. He might be paralyzed, but it still feels like he's got us right in the palm of his hand." And Deaton was right, that is exactly what it felt like. Although in theory they had the upper hand with him being captured and all.
It seemed he wanted them to find him.
Hearing her name called from the other room, Aurelia stood up and entered the living room where she found Melissa sat on the floor in front of Stiles, beginning to tend to his wounds. Melissa explained that she couldn't thread the needle, her hands were shaking too much and she was wondering whether Lia could so it. Knowing that the young girl had always been good with fiddly tasks.
Shaking off the déjà vu she got, she took the needle and sat on the floor beside her.
Looking up at Stiles, Aurelia gasped quietly. His eyes were now full of tears as he observed the girl before him. "Stiles?" Aurelia whispered, her heart shattering when he nodded and sniffed. Reaching up she pulled the tape from his mouth and rested her hand on his cheek.
Looking up to meet her eyes, Aurelia's smile dropped. "Really, Aurelia? I shed one tear? That's all it takes?" Aurelia sat back down, lowering her hopes again and moving closer to Melissa.
"Come on. You can't crumble that easily." The Nogitsune spoke, more to Melissa now. "How are you going to hold up when Scott knows the truth?" Aurelia froze, at the same time feeling the woman next to her stiffen. "When he finds out why his dad really left?" Melissa's mouth went dry as she stared at the boy she once considered a son. "You know he overheard it, right? You had no idea. You called Stilinski right after it happened. You didn't tell Scott, but you told the Sheriff." Stiles nodded, enjoying the turmoil he was creating. "But Stiles heard it, like he hears everything."
Melissa stayed quiet, but the anger in Aurelia built and built. She was mortified at the urge she had to hit him. She was enraged at the words falling from his mouth. "But you want to know why he never told Scott? Because he knew that Scott would never forgive you." Melissa sucked in a breath, Lia's fists tightened. "He knew how much he would hate you."
"This isn't you, Stiles." Melissa spoke solemnly, reaching for the tape once more.
"It is now." He laughed manically.
Taking the tape from Melissa, Aurelia nodded for her to leave the room. Although Melissa was reluctant, Lia insisted. She wanted some time alone with the bastard who had taken her love from her.
Seconds after she left, Aurelia moved and sat beside him on the couch. She hadn't fought with him yet and she didn't know how she would hold up against the Nogitsune herself. But being that she was worshipped by many in Greece, she had reason to believe she would hold up just fine.
"What do you want?" She asked quietly, looking deeply into the honey brown eyes, that used to hold so much love and admiration for her.
"Chaos, strif—"
"And pain, yeah, I get it." She snapped.
"Do you miss him?" It asked, watching her face contort into one of confusion. "He misses you, you know?" Aurelia shivered at his voice, it was Stiles' voice, yes. But it was cold and emotionless. It was dull and daunting. "Every time I come near you, he screams and screams for me not to."
