Life was proving more and more difficult for Adriana to manage. Having to balance getting her fitness levels back, taking over the shit show that is managing the Spanish national team, wedding planning, and taking care of her younger brother.

Everything was proving to be hard.

In terms of her fitness levels, she's almost been completely cleared by the physios at Arsenal.

Although managing Spain has not been so easy.

Having flown to Barcelona in order to meet with Claudia, they had struck a deal that she would be returning to the national team, although she was under strict instruction to not mention who her new manager was.

The difficulty was Mapi.

Mapi was continuously avoiding any calls concerning the national team, not wanting to even hear out what they may have to offer.

Spain was due to have a friendly match against Australia and another against England in the coming weeks. However, the squad was still yet to be announced, as Dria was continuously fighting for Mapi to return.

"Adriana, it's time to announce that you've taken over the national team, England have prepared their statement regarding you leaving, which they will be announcing shortly, but we need to prepare our announcement as well. Then, the final squad for the friendlies needs to be determined by the end of the week." Diego tells her over the phone, causing Adriana to groan in response.

"I've had no luck with Maria whatsoever. She won't take any of Rosa's calls anymore, I don't know how else to coax her to return." Adriana replies, sitting on the bed in the spare room of hers and Leah's shared apartment.

Leah was currently out with a few of her friends god knows where. Adriana wasn't told, like usual.

Ever since they had their argument, they had barely spoken, with Leah always being out of the house when Adriana woke up and not returning until she was in bed.

Dria knew she returned every night, as she always made sure to make enough dinner for Leah as well, leaving it either in the fridge or in the microwave for her to reheat, and when she awakens, it's always gone.

Although now, Adriana was sitting waiting for England to post their announcement, which it was decided would be done at 8pm, with it currently being 6:45pm.

Spain would then follow with their own announcement in the morning, announcing Dria as their new head coach.

Sighing, Adriana gets up from the spare bedroom and walks into the kitchen.

Nico had been staying with Amanda, Leah's mum, for the past few weeks by choice, claiming that he preferred to have more space.

As Adriana reaches the kitchen, she instantly spots Milo, who has now grown a considerable amount, curled up on the sofa, asleep on top of one of Leah's jumpers.

Dria sighs, shaking her head as she moves to the fridge, getting the mince out in order to do a lasagna, which she knows is Leah's favourite.

Truthfully, Adriana had been spending most of her days over the past week trying to find venues for her and Leah to view for their wedding, as well as looking for places for her to buy a suit, as well as wedding rings.

She knows that she hadn't been the best partner recently, but she was now trying, even if Leah doesn't know that.

The front door swings open once Adriana has finished preparing the lasagna and had put it in the oven.

Leah walks in, joined by some of her friends, some of which include Grace, Lia, Laura, Keira, and Ellie.

As soon as Adriana spots her ex, her eyebrows raise, and she feels her heart rate pick up again, panic washing over her.

Ellie seemingly spots Adriana first, smirking at her when she does so before beginning to stalk towards her.

In turn, Dria acts on pure instinct, standing up from her place on the sofa, awakening Milo at the same time, before going straight to the bedroom she's been staying in, grabbing a bag of clothes that she had already packed.

When Adriana tries to leave the bedroom, however, Ellie is at the door and shoves her back inside, causing Dria to gulp in return.

It appears that Leah hasn't yet noticed that Adriana was home.

Leah was sat talking to Keira, Laura, and Grace, whilst Lia was in the bathroom.

As Lia leaves the bathroom, she instantly notices Ellie is missing, her head shooting around as she looks for her, spotting her at the door of the spare room.

Lia springs into action instantly, going straight to the spare room, yanking Ellie back by her shirt.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing? Leave Dri the fuck alone, Ellie." Lia curses at her, as she takes in Adriana's appearance, the Spaniard having curled up into a ball on the floor, rocking back and forth.

"You heard Leah earlier, she's been treating her like shit, so don't you think it's time she learnt her lesson?" Ellie replies with a smirk, breaking free of Lia's grip.

Lia takes a deep breath before pushing past Ellie, standing directly in front of Adriana.

"No, I don't think that, Ellie. Mariona told me everything you fucking did to her, and you shouldn't even be here considering what you put her through, but Leah is too fucking nice to cut you off! Get the fuck out before I inflict the pain you inflicted on her to you." Lia snaps at the English defender, who sneers in response.

"Lia, we both know I'm stronger than you, so step aside. I don't want to hurt you."

"Lia, just go." Adriana says timidly, her head tucked into her knees as she does so, causing Lia's heart to break.

"Dri-"

"Go! I deserve this, I've always deserved this! I learnt throughout the years that I deserved this!"

"What the fuck is going on in here?" Another voice says as they enter the room.

"Leah, get Ellie the fuck out of here why don't you?" Lia snaps at her best friend, dropping to the floor to pull Adriana into her arms.

"I-I have to go." Adriana says, shooting up and grabbing her bag, sprinting out of the apartment as fast as she could, not looking back as she does so.
