Chapter 29- Official

Leah and I have had a fair few dates in between our first date and now, but we still aren't officially dating.

Today is the 20th May 2022, and Leah leaves to go on holiday to Cali with some of her friends tomorrow, whereas I am going to Turin later on tonight to watch the Champions League final tomorrow between Barcelona and Lyon. After that match, I am going on holiday to Greece with Ona, her brother, and my younger siblings on my dad's side.

It's 7:05am, and Leah is due to be here at 8. Beth and Viv are currently in Ibiza with some other Arsenal teammates and some friends, meaning that I currently have the house to myself.

Leah and I both agreed to spend today together as we won't be able to spend time with each other past today until after the Euros.

At bang on 8 am, Leah knocks on the door to mine and Beth's place, prompting me to swiftly open the door and pull her into a hug.

"I'm gonna miss you, Le." I tell her as I shut the door behind her before hugging her again.

"I'm gonna miss you too, Dria, but we'll be okay." She says back before kissing my cheek.

"Yeah, yeah, we will." I say whilst smiling.

"What do you want to do until I have to take you to the airport?" She asks as we walk into the living room to sit on the sofa.

"We can do whatever you want to do, amor, I don't mind."

"Wait, quickly, run me over your holiday plans again?" She requests, making me look at her in confusion.

"I'm going to Turin today for the Champions League final tomorrow, then I'm travelling back to Spain with the Barcelona squad as they've said I can, and Arsenal said it was fine as well. Then, from Spain, I'm spending a day or two there before going to Greece with Ona, Joan, Nicolás, and Thea." I tell her whilst smiling.

"Nicolás and Thea are your younger siblings, yes?" She questions me, making me frown slightly.

"Sí, on Papá's side, although Thea is only my step sister, but Nicolás is my half brother."

"How old are Thea and Nicolás?"

"Thea is 15, and Nicolás is 8. Why so many questions, amor?"

"I want to know who my girlfriend is going on holiday with. Is that a problem?" She asks whilst cocking her eyebrow at me, causing my eyes to go wide with shock.

"Girlfriend? I don't remember you asking me to be your girlfriend, Leah." I remark back, smirking slightly, which makes her roll her eyes at me.

"I was going to ask you later but fuck it, Dria, will you be my girlfriend, officially?"

"Thought you'd never ask, Williamson, of course I will be." I say back before kissing her forehead lightly and putting the TV on. "Now, what do you want to watch?"

Goodbyes are the worst part of life. All my life, I've had to say goodbye. To my siblings, to my mother, to my father when I moved to England, to Ona, to all of my friends at City, and now to Leah.

I hate it. But the best feeling is knowing that nothing will change, regardless of the time spent apart. As soon as you meet again, everything will be the same.

Which is what makes it all more special that I'm going to the Champions League final.

My past is all there. My old friends, my current friends. Alexia, one of my best friends. No matter what, the ones you have chosen will always be there. They're family at the end of the day, blood or not.

That's the special thing in life, the ones who you choose to be a part of your family, not the ones who are born family.

All I hope is that their hearts don't get broken tomorrow, that the Barca fan inside of me still doesn't have to witness my team lose. Especially when so many of them are friends.
