Chapter 15

I watched as the walkers pushed up against the fence lining the perimeter of our make shift home.

"Hey" Rick said as he looked out to the rattling gates of the prison. He sits next to me, my body staying ever so still.

It was peaceful and quiet...for the most part. I glared at the walkers. I shot up.

"I'm done" I stormed towards the gate.

"Artemis where are you going" Rick calls after me.

"Ima kill these Fuckers" The people at the gates learned to not mess with me in this funky mood. They opened the gate as fast as they could and I trudged out, feeling the weight of every angry step. I slammed my foot into the ground as I went to face the walkers at the walls.

"Artemis, get the hell out of there, it's not safe!" Rick's voice was urgent, but I barely registered it. I rolled my eyes and sighed, feeling the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins as I stared into the dead, lifeless eyes of the walkers.

Their grotesque forms shuffled toward me, moaning with the hunger that never ceased.I tightened my grip on my daggers—serrated blades, glinting in the pale sunlight, stained with the blood of countless undead.

I lunged forward, the first walker's head splitting open as my dagger found its mark. Blackened blood and decayed flesh splattered across my face, but I didn't flinch. I moved with purpose, each strike fueled by a mix of fury and desperation. The next walker lunged at me, and I twisted, driving both daggers through its eye sockets, twisting them free with a sickening squelch.

"Come on, you bastards!" I shouted, dancing through the crowd of walkers, my movements fluid and precise. My breath came in ragged bursts, but I didn't stop. Every thrust, every kill was a release, a defiance against the hopelessness that threatened to consume us all.

The walkers kept coming, a relentless tide of death. I pirouetted and slashed one walker across the throat, the blade slicing through rotted flesh with ease. "This is for all of us," I muttered, gritting my teeth as I took down another.

"Artemis, fall back!" Rick's voice was closer now, but I ignored it, lost in the frenzy of the fight. I stabbed my daggers into the last walker's skull, and as it fell, I stood there, panting, surrounded by the carnage I had wrought.

I wiped the sweat and gore from my face, turning back to see Rick and some of the others watching from the gate. Their expressions were a mix of awe and fear. I walked back towards them, my anger spent.

"That's how you do it," I said, pushing past them.

"You could've gotten yourself KILL" Rick yelled after me. I just shook my head around entered the prison.

I stopped in my tracks as Axel and Tomas sat in the make shift kitchen, worrie expressions pllastered on their faces.

"Ma'am" Axel called loudly as I stared. What the hell were they doing here?

"Please you gotta help us, they keep coming, they wont leave us alone."

"AND IT STINKS" Tomas yelled. A whip of cold air tickles the back of my neck and the loud slam of the door sounded, the men in front of me turned fearful and Axel even got on his knees to beg at Rick for help as he strode into the room.

"Please, we can't even get out of the prison room to get the bodies out cause they just keep coming!"

"No" was all Rick said before turning and attending to the crying child in the next room over.

"You heard him boys, get" I laughed. What the fuck was going on with me. Before I could come to a conclusion Axel took my hand in his. I looked him dead in the eyes.

"Please gorgeous" He said, I mentally vomited.

"Get off" I said warningly. He didn't move, "I could show you a good time after your help" He tried again, he couldn't take a hint. So the most sensible thing was to kick him in the children. So I did just that.

I slammed my knee right into his balls.

Bye bye kids.....

He fell to the floor and groaned. "Touch me again and I will cut your dick off" I smiled through the threat. The two men finally leave to retreat to their infested home.

I feel giant ass footsteps stomp across the floor, the vibration so strong that I look around to make sure the giants from Jack and the Beanstalk aren't here. Carol comes marching in and stops right in front of rick. The to have a hushed conversation before Carol starts to yell.

"THEIR MISSING AND YOU AREN'T DOING ANYTHING"

"WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, I CANT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT KNOWING WHERE THEY WERE TAKEN!"

"MERLE" I started, gaining everyone's attention. "He said the name governor and the place Woodberry"

"YOU DIDN'T THINK TO SAY ANYTHING?" Rick yelled, I flinched hoping it would go unnoticed.

"I was hoping you would come up with something and then I would reveal this information but seems like my plan failed"

"Rick" Patrick Yells from his place at the door. "We need you" In one quick motion the entire group is outside. A tall black woman is covered in crimson liquid and she stumbles into the courtyard. I rush to catch her as she trips. I lowered her to the ground. She instinctively grabs hold of her sword at her hip. My eyes widen and the awe is clear on my face.

"Who are you" Rick starts, the woman shakes her head.

"I'm Michonne"

"What are you doing here?" Rick asks as he leans over to his son, the young boy running away to complete whatever task he was given.

"I can help you"

"Really, how so?" Rick questions, but the most absurd thing comes out of her mouth, "I know where their taking your friends"

"I know where WoodBerry is"
