Chapter 28

Carol and I crouched in the bushes by the terminus camp ready to launch a rocket at the gas tanks. Ready to blow this popsicle stand sky high.

SOOOO let me back up.

I had been on the road for what felt like an eternity, each day blending into the next. The exhaustion was almost unbearable, but I pressed on, driven by the hope of reaching Terminus—a name that had been promised as a safe haven. The journey was harsh, marked by constant danger and the relentless struggle for survival.

One day, while navigating through a particularly dense thicket, I stumbled upon something unexpected: a small, recently extinguished campfire. The embers were still smoldering, a faint smoke rising into the cool air. The sight of the fire was both a relief and a warning. It meant that people had been here recently, perhaps others looking for a place of safety, but it also meant I had to be cautious.

I scanned the area carefully, spotting the remnants of a camp—abandoned cookware, a few scattered supplies, and signs of hurried departure. It was clear that whoever had been here was gone, but the recent activity suggested that they might have been heading towards Terminus. I knew I had to be careful; Terminus was close, and any information I could gather might be crucial.

As I continued to follow the tracks leading towards Terminus, I encountered Carol. She had also been on her own, making her way toward what we both hoped was a safe place. Her and Tyreese got split up and he had Judith with him. Carol had her own reasons for heading to Terminus—her fierce drive to protect and find safety for those she cared about. They had taken our friend and we were going to get them back.

Carol told me and I quote, "I'm done being a Pussy" and stole a groups rocket launcher. "Damn, who took my Carol and gave her an upgrade" I joked with her. She only giggled but turned serious when we spotted the group being moved into one of the main buildings. We needed to prevent Terminus from trapping more innocent people, to stop their insidious plan from continuing. With limited resources, we formulated a plan to sabotage their operations.

The plan was simple but risky: we would take out the gas tanks at the heart of Terminus, creating a diversion that would hopefully disrupt their operations and give me a chance to rescue any potential captives.

Now, as we crouched in the bushes, the camp of Terminus spread out before us, its darkened structures illuminated by the flickering lights from within. The scent of diesel and smoke was strong in the air, a constant reminder of the danger we faced. We were ready.

Carol held the rocket launcher steady, her face a mask of grim determination. I kept watch, my senses on high alert for any sign of movement. We had to act quickly and efficiently; any delay could mean getting caught or worse. "You ready?" she asked, "Yeah, but are you sure their in there, I dont wanna become chop liver"

"I promise you"

With a nod from Carol, I prepared to run as she provided cover while aiming at the gas tanks. The plan was set in motion, and all that was left was to execute it.

With nothing to lose I got up and started to stalk up to the building. I was quickly able to get to the building unnoticed. I looked back at Carol to give her the signal. I held up a peace sign and she let it rip. The rocket flew through the air and landed its mark on the tanks. With and explosion that rippled across the ground making me shake and wobble with the ground. I headed for a nearby door and busted through. It was dark but not as dark as it might have been if not for the flashing red lights. The warning sounds blared through the building. A couple men came through the door on the other side of the room and I slid. I sliced through their heads and picked up the machine gun that was left behind. I walked through the halls like a badass. The gun raised above my head. I could see the group down the hall in another room with the bags off their heads looking around frantically, trying to find a way out.
