As Mia continued frolicking in the illuminated field, her heart swelled with happiness as she watched the fireflies weave their magical patterns around her. She felt like she was in a dream, surrounded by a sea of twinkling lights. Mylo barked excitedly, eyes shining with the same wonder that filled Mia's heart. Together, they danced and played, lost in their world of enchantment.
However, the dancing came to a halt for Mia as her foot got caught in the tall grass, swinging her toppling backwards. But she didn't care as the joy within her persisted despite now lying on her back in the grassy field. Her hair and clothes were covered in loose weeds and wildflowers and still, the cold air continued to be filled with childish giggles as she now admired the fireflies' glow from below.
In this magical setting, Mia's mind was at ease. For once in a while, she felt like she could breathe again and wasn't being bombarded with these new problems and discoveries she had to deal with.
As she lay there, Reign suddenly joined her. He settled himself on his back on the ground beside her. Now she had a partner to admire the fireflies and the stars with.
Mia sighs contentedly "Thank you for bringing me here," she says in a whispered tone, her voice soft and mellow "The fireflies are incredible. I've never seen anything like it ."
Reign smirks, giving her a slight nod "I'm glad you like it. I always come here whenever I need to clear my mind, " he responded, his eyes glued to the stars above "And you seemed like you could use it"
Mia's heart swelled with appreciation as she realized he went all this way trying to make her feel better. No guy has ever done something like that for her, especially one she just met. She turned to her side to face him "It's perfect. I feel like all my worries have just melted away. Laying here, under the stars, with the fireflies... it's like a dream."
Reign slightly tilted his head to her, giving her a warm smile "When life gets too hard, sometimes, we just need a reminder of how beautiful the world can be"
She nodded but did not take in what he was saying as she was too busy gazing deeply into his brown eyes as he spoke. They were a mesmerizing blend of warmth and depth with Flecks of gold that danced around his irises, something she'd never noticed until now as the firefly's glow illuminated what looked like pitch black.
But before she could fall any deeper into the warmth of his eyes, she caught herself before things could get weird.
"Um...so..." she looked down, averting her gaze and trying to think of something to say "How did you even find a place like this anyways?" she asked, her voice frantic.
"Yara found it" he clarified "She probably comes here more than me" he added which made Mia raise an eyebrow in question.
"Why?. It's not like she can see the fireflies since she's...you know, blind" she hesitantly said the last part, not sure if it came off as rude but Reign just chuckled softly.
"You don't have to see something to know its beauty Mia" he begins to say "It's true that Yara can't see the fireflies like we do, but she experiences them in her way. She can feel the cool night air, hear the sounds of the crickets, and sense the magic of the moment" he explained, his voice low and mellow as he closed his eyes as if trying to put himself in her shoes.
Mia reflected on his words and the conversation she had with Yara earlier that day popped into her mind "Yeah...she also told me she uses this thing called echolocation to get around""I know. It's pretty neat isn't it" Reign replied "Especially considering she taught herself after losing her sight" he added which left Mia confused "She lost it? She asked.
