from the start

chapter 5: Autumn.

Gus was acting differently to me. He was nicer, he looked at me like he truly loved me but the most shocking thing was 2 months since the injury he had not hit me.
I did not know what was going on but I would not object. I started enjoying spending time with him and I smiled genuinely around him.
"Jake I am going out" I said running down the stairs as Gus hit the horn to show his arrival, he had never come to pick me up before, i did not want to mess it up.
"Keep your location on" he shouted in reply, he was in the sitting room.
"Okay" I walked out, turned it on, looked up and smiled-an actual smile- at Gus.
"Hello babe are you.ready to have the time of your life" he said smiling back and opening the door for me. It's hard to believe that the man in front of me was the one that broke 2 of my ribs.
"Only if you tell me what happened to your hand" his hand had 4 painful looking marks on it, it had been there for some time now but she never told me how he got them.
" Nothing you have to worry you pretty little head about" he shut the door and went to the drivers seat.
He did not tell me where we were going but I trusted him.
The car was quiet. I felt him wrap his hand against mine, for the first time. We held hand through out the trip.
A few minutes later he pulled up into a restaurant."we have arrived, I rented out the restaurant for us for the whole day" he said looking at me with a childish smile on his face,it reminded me of the smile Kai-" stop it" I said to myself.
I got out of the car and walked into the restaurant with Gus beside me.
I loved the Gus I had with me now.
He ordered food for both of us and we spoke, laughed and ate.
We left the restaurant by 8pm and he dropped me home. I walked into my house a smile still plastered on my face, I wanted to prove Jake and Kai wrong about Gus and thankfully they where both in the house.
"Guys I am back." I said as I walked into Jake's room.
"Safe might I add" Jake's snarled and sat up. " I hope you safe" he said.
" Yeah I am and I hade the time of my life. He was such a gentleman he opened the door for me and everything. He even payed for my food and held my hand" I said pulling my hair back into a ponytail
"I don't know how you could be so happy for him doing the bare minimum" Jake said taking the words out of my mouth. "Whoa" Jake wailed, I had tossed my bag straight at his face but missed." I was just saying the truth" he said before returning to lying down.
"What do you think, Kai?" I asked finally noticing his presence. I smiled wishing he would side with me.
"I agree with your brother" he did not grant my wish.
"Oh look who is talking the 2 people that don't have girlfriends only phrases, for 2 weeks at most. My boyfriend has been with me for how long? 2 years"I said taking of my shoes .
"Anyways, Jake I think what me and Gus have going on right now is a forever thing" I said satisfied
"I love him"I said practically blushing as the image of his face popped in my head. I laid down at the edge of the bed which was already occupied with 2 6ft tall males.
I whipped out my phone.
Gus texted me,he was breaking up with me and moving.
"Guys, Gus is moving"I said my voice cracking. Both turned to look at me, smiling. "He is breaking up with me"the dam broke I held Jake and cried. I did not care that Kai was in the room.
"What did I do I thought we were doing fine these c-couple months."l looked up at Jake, searching his face for answer that wasn't there"you're happy "I sighed getting up to face both of them. I looked at them for a few seconds hoping someone would object. They didn't and i walked out the room.
Oddly enough I felt free.
