chapter 21: Kai

Today Jake woke up before me. I was in so much pain I couldn't even get up, my sister called yesterday to tell me Autumn was doing well which brought me comfort.
She was not a baby ofcourse but I preferred knowing that she was alright.
As a matter of fact let me message her.
Kai: morning.
Autumn:how are you? Jake told me you woke up late.
Seems I was not the only one using my siblings as a security camera.
Kai:yeah, I am good. I just needed extra sleep.
Autumn: you can come home early if needed. You know that right?
My phone buzzed but it was not Autumn it was Victoria.
Victoria: guess what?
Kai:yeah?
Victoria:is that how you talk to your ELDERS.
Kai:I don't guess. Just say it
Victoria:say please
Kai: please.
Victoria: was that to hard?
Victoria:our parents are in Sydney.
I shot up from my bed.
Kai:are you sure? Do they know I am here?
Victoria:yeah they wanna see you.
This could not be happening. I did not want to tell Jake or Autumn it did not involve them and I wanted to keep it that way. Victoria told me where my parents lived now and I got ready to go.
I was in no way happy to see them all I wanted was an explanation and if my parents grew up in any way maybe an apology.

"Where are we of to?"Jake walked into my room as I was putting on my shirt.
"Not we"
"Someone sounds angry. I thought we had passed the stage of unnecessary anger"he said patting my shoulder.
I scoffed.
"I ask again where are we of to"
"I am going to get something"i lie through my teeth.
"Why can't I come along then?" He asks obviously suspecting that I was lying.
I give him no reply and leave my room, he follows.
"Okay keep your location on"
He had an obsession with that ever since Gus.
"Yeah you tell your girlfriend where we are"I shut the door and on my location.

I walk out my car to my parents already waiting for me.
"Mr Koloyar"I say bending my head to my father.
I had out grown the stage of calling him Father.
"Mrs Koloyar" I say making the same gesture at my mother.
"Kai, it been what 3 years" my mother said giving me a hug I don't return.
"Victoria told me you wanted to speak to me" I said ignoring my mother and facing my father.
"Please sit" I obey.
"You want an explanation"my father pauses before adding "that we can't give,I heard Skye is back"
I nod
"So it's true" my father says
my mother asks me the questions Victoria does and I answer.
"Leave that family alone"my father orders sitting down opposite me.
"With all die respect I can't"
Why am I not shocked. They want me to walk away from everyone that means something to me like they did except I am not sure we meant something to them.
"Kai"my mom says in a hushed tone.
"I am sorry. If that's why I was called I would be on my way" i get up and walk away.
"Kai" my father called and I halt. "I was not asking, you would leave that family alone "
I face him.
"I am sorry I can't"
He get up and walks towards me only stopping mere inches away.
"Kai Koloyar " he shouts
"Sir" I answered calmly. I no longer fear him. He says nothing
"Good bye" I say bowing my head at my mother. I walk closer to my father, "I am so not sorry "
And I am out the door
