chapter 25: Kai

Everytime the unknown number calls I do not pick up the phone Frankly out of fear.i have been staying at Jake's place but today I decided to go home on my way home I got a text from Ellie my last serious ex.
Ellie:hey Kia.
Kai:what do you want?
I was in no mood to entertain her.
Ellie:are you home?
Kai:no, why?
Ellie:no reason.
She was lying because as soon as I pulled up into the driveway there she was. Ginger hair packed back in a bun.
"What are you doing at my house?"I asked but she didn't reply as she was fast asleep.
I bent next to her body outside and contemplated taking her into my house. She reaked of alcohol.
She stirred up as rain trickles down from the sky painted gray.
"What are you doing here?"I asked still a good distance away from her.
"I just want to talk"
Last time I saw her pair of blue eyes was 2 years ago but she comes now to talk .
I give her a once over and let her in,I can't turn away a wet dog.
"I heard you have moved on"she said when I walked into the kitchen to get her a cup of water.
"I don't know we're you heard it from but your source is right."I handed the water to her only for her to drop it on the center table.
I had no intention to force her to drink it,she was no longer my problem.
"I need to take a shower"I say wanting to leave her as soon as possible.
She holds my hand as I go up the stairs."I miss u Kai, and I know you feel the same".
I shove her off and continue walking upstairs.
We broke up because she cheated on me after 5 years of being together after her all I could ever have were phases well all until Autumn.
"Look at me!" She shouted tears evident in her voice.
"I have no time for this right now Ellianna"
"Well I do Kai. I love you"she confessed making me spin around.
"You don't get the right too"I say calmly not wanting to fight with a lady.
"Why?"she was genuinely asking. And that's what hurt.
I sigh"all I want to do is put you in my past coz I am traumatized, but you are not letting me do that.are you?" Now she could tell I was angry.
Her eyes eiden as I stand mere inches away from her.
"And the shit you put me through. When-"I laughed though it was the farthest thing from funny to me."- when we were together you told your friends you wanted me dead but now you show up at my house "I wonder what she could have done if I sayed with Autumn.
"I am sorry just give me a second chance"she pleaded for the impossible.
"People like you always what back what they can't have"
I let Ellie stay at my place for the night. I am about to go to bed when the unknown number calls but this time I pick the phone.
"Did you like your surprise?you can keep it " the old voice said then ended the call.
Was she the cause of Ellie being here right now?
