Basil awoke to an empty room, a bit woozily. The room, despite being empty, was full of loud colours. It sort of hurt Basil's eyes.

He got to his feet and searched the blinding room. In spite of his squinting, Basil could be certain. Sunny wasn't here.

"Sunny?" Basil called out to the empty room. He rubbed his eyes. Was the room glowing or something? He accidentally kicked a light metallic object across the floor. Squinting, Basil looked around the floor and picked the object up. It was metal and very thin. It had a heavier part on the end... Basil couldn't quite decipher it without being able to see it.

He decided that trying to leave the room was the best course of action. Upstairs, outside the door of the room looked to be a deep grey sky. Far less overwhelming than the neon bright colours inside this... wherever this was.

"Sunny!?" Basil called out as he climbed out of the room. There was a strange quiet around the area. Grey trees, grey grass, and grey skies were surrounding Basil. He noticed that the steadily shrinking doorway that he exited was a stump.

Unusual, but honestly, not the biggest concern. Sunny's location was far more important. This strange grey forest was a bit comforting, at least. It felt somehow familiar... Basil brushed it off. First, Basil went "up" from the stump. He didn't know why yet, but he had a gut feeling this wasn't going to lead anywhere.

It did lead somewhere, just not somewhere useful. It led to a lake. A lake with sand structures of people around its beach. Basil decided to steer clear of the creepy shoreline and went back to the stump.

Basil got the strange sense again that there was nothing of value to the left or right of the stump entrance. It only seemed that the "south" was the correct direction. A faint glow was coming from behind the bushes.

As he went through the bushes, Basil found himself in another blindingly bright area. A clearing this time, rather than a room, but it still hurt his eyes no matter what it was. He went through the room as quickly as possible, carefully avoiding any of the strange people he could see through his eyelashes.

Finally, on the other side of the clearing, Basil fumbled through the bushes and entered a less visually harmful zone. Back to grey and dull, the calming colour scheme made Basil sigh with relief.

He stood up and felt himself drawn again to the path ahead of him, the left and right feeling completely unnecessary. It was as if he knew exactly where Sunny went.

He walked along a path. It was surrounded by pretty little gardens. Unfortunately, these gardens were void of plants or flowers, but they still looked nice.

Eventually, Basil reached a picnic blanket and basket. He walked around it gingerly, not wanting to trample on it... for some reason. It just felt like he shouldn't step on it.

As Basil entered the clearing and walked around the grove in the center of it, he felt a headache come on. It was light at first, but as Basil entered the grove, he felt the headache intensify.

But he knew Sunny was on the other side of that door... that door on a weird shoe... Basil didn't have much time to think. He just ran over to the door, practically falling over himself to get to it. As he opened the door and ran inside, the headache suddenly faded.

Another sigh of relief as Basil closed the door behind him. He turned around and looked at the room he had just entered.

There was the girl from earlier. The... fake Mari. "Oh god..." Basil mumbled. Of course, despite Basil's hopes that it was fake, she just felt so real, it felt impossible.

"What's wrong, Basil? Expecting someone else?" Mari asked with a smirk.

Basil grabbed for the doorknob behind him. Nothing was there. "S-Stay away. You aren't real." Basil shouted in a shaky voice. The boy looked behind him to try to find the door. It was a flat wall. "No... no, no, no, no..." Basil frantically cried, gritting his teeth, forced to look on as Mari got closer.

"Get out of here, greenie. We don't want you here." Mari flicked Basil, and suddenly, he was gone. Nothing was around, in fact.

A little disorienting, but Basil was still conscious. Plenty of time to think, it appeared, as he was presently unable to move.

Firstly, he wondered why they kept calling him "greenie". It didn't really make sense. Was it because of his sweatervest being a dark green? They said it as if they were familiar with referring to him too... but Basil never met them...

What is going on..?

There wasn't much time to ask questions, as Basil landed on a strange platform over a dark chasm. The platform was made of a sort of soft-ish substance, like a mushroom. It was a bright orange like pumpkin pie.

There was a strange sort of song playing, too. It was quite bad. The cacophony evoked the sounds of a drunk symphony being played far in the distance.

Basil got to his feet once more and looked around. Nothing of value nearby, it seemed. After a short moment of contemplation, the blonde walked ahead along a path. He felt his thumb twitch as he walked ahead. The music intimidated Basil, but he didn't really care what happened next at this point. He just wanted to go home.
