Basil walked past random TVs and radios before walking up to a silhouette of a man with a top hat. One Basil recognized.
The man turned around, and Basil could confirm. It was the guy from earlier. Silho. The man looked surprised, if only with his eyes. "Gr- I mean, Mr. Charron! You... how did you get here? You aren't supposed to be here." Silho asked in confusion.
Basil made a face of irritation, "I just want to get out of here. Could you at least tell me how?"
"I understand your irritation, young man, but unfortunately, I have no idea. I could tell you where Mr. Whitbaker went, though. Does that interest you?"
Basil made a "tsk" sound and crossed his arms. "Fine." The boy was just annoyed at this point, but was honestly a little glad that Sunny was seen alive by someone. He was just too angry to really express gratitude to the person who was responsible for making him lose Sunny to begin with.
Basil angrily walked in the direction that Silho motioned to. Rage boiled inside him as he walked up to the door that Sunny apparently went through. Next to it was the figure Basil remembered was named Ollie.
Ollie was sat next to the door, leaning against its frame, clutching a bottle of what seemed to be champagne. "Great. You're here, too." Basil sarcastically muttered. He began to put his hand on the doorknob, but this prompted a response from Ollie.
"snrk, H-HEY! Y-you hic you're not supposed tuh... t'be here... g-go 'way!" Ollie demanded, swaying his bottle in Basil's direction. He was clearly drunk, however that works with a creature like Ollie.
Ollie gripped Basil's leg to keep him from entering the door as he opened it. "Ay! Ay! Stop that! You ain't g-goin' nowhere!" Ollie exclaimed. Basil kicked Ollie off in a defiant anger, and ran into the door, slamming it behind him.
"Stupid fucking ghosts, stupid fucking world, stupid fucking..." Basil trailed off as he noticed the room he was now in.
It was filled with chairs facing random directions, but that wasn't what silenced him. Instead, it was the mural of Mari's face on the wall.
The sudden reminder made Basil's rage melt away into a deep anxiety. He carefully navigated between the chairs and went through the next door.
Another room, another mural of Mari, this time being her whole body rather than just her face. This was really creepy.
Basil kind of saw it coming, but it was still disturbing, as the next room had a mural of Mari's hanging corpse on the wall. He averted his eyes and entered the next room.
The room was completely empty beyond two chairs facing each other. They seemed familiar somehow... Basil felt drawn to sitting down in the one on the right.
Basil gave in to the urge and sat in the seat.
"Hello, Basil." Sunny greeted from the opposite seat.
"Sunny! I... hm, I wonder why I felt I was looking for you. You're right in front of me! How silly, haha!" Basil giggled happily.
Sunny nodded, "I felt... similar. I don't... I don't know why. Am I- Are you- Do you think we're forgetting something?" He stuttered out. Basil felt a bit bad that he was having such a struggle speaking.
"I don't think so. We're at your house, hanging out like always." Basil replied confidently. He felt very sure that things were totally normal.
Sunny averted his gaze and looked a bit shy. "Basil... I just want to say... to say sorry." He explained, "I'm sorry for leaving you all alone all those years."
Basil waved his hand, "No, no, it's fine, Sunny. I understand. What happened must've been really hard on you, I get-" Sunny had to interrupt.
"No! B-Basil, you were a-all... all alone and I... all I did was... I ran away from everything and left you be-behind. I missed you a lot, Basil, I regret doing that. To you, and... and to me." Sunny explained. Basil blushed a bit and averted his eyes. The two were now both looking at the floor.
After an awkward silence, Basil spoke up, "Th-Thank you, Sunny. Um... I think I need a drink, haha..." Basil stood up, and everything came flooding back, and Sunny vanished.
Th-This place tricked me again!
Upset by the trickery, Basil finally burst through one final door to leave this stupid hell. He slammed the door open, stomped through, and then
Basil stood over Sunny nervously. "S-Sunny, come on, you have to wake up. Everyone is waiting!" He tried to speak a little bit loudly to make him awaken, but quieter than a shout as to not give him a rude awakening.
Sunny stirred, then sat up, sleepily blinking. "Oh, you're awake, thank goodness! I didn't want to make the others wait too long, haha... did you, um... have any dreams?"
The raven-haired boy shook his head "no" and moved to stand up. "Oh well, I suppose no dreams are better than bad ones, haha. I..." Basil trailed off as Sunny got very close to Basil's face. "Um... d-do I have something on my face..?" Basil asked nervously as Sunny looked deep into his eyes.
"No. Something is... feels weird." Sunny said, narrowing his eyes at Basil. "No, no, it's not... it isn't you. Must be something else. Let's go and then get pizza then." He concluded as he began to walk out of the clearing, holding Basil's hand to bring him along. Basil blushed but didn't resist, following Sunny back to Gino's.
Basil felt that today was going to be a great day.
