The southerner

"Thomas I-" I twisted my head to look up at the boy sat next to me "Your not thomas" I said looking into the boys face and wiping my eyes, I don't even know why I was crying. Crippling social anxiety? Fear of confrontation? Being alive? Who knew? "Your right, I'm not..." the boy said looking back at me, he had the same hair as Newt but just that little bit darker. He had gapped teeth and a strong Southern accent "Who are you then?" I said staring back at the boy with a frown, One Newt would've made fun of me for becuase 'if your going to scowl, you could at least do it properly' that's what he would've said, that's what he did say when we used to speak.

"My names Aris, Aris Jones" the boy said looking at me still his eyes moving across my face like he was studying me. "Well Aris, Aris Jones, thank you" I laughed- like I said before I'm a really funny person- he laughed with me before speaking again. "Who are you?" He said to me finally moving his eyes away from my face to look at the sweet peas growing next to him. "YN" I said putting my head back against the wall that lead to the growing ivy. "Pretty name" he said after the minute of silence . "So YN, what are you doing here?" He didn't sound rude when he said it like most people would, he did genuinely just seem curios. "Oh, I just needed a quite place to sit for a bit, sorry if you had plans or something" I really hated being in people's way back then and I could never stop apologising.

He stood up and held his hand out for me to take. I took it and he hurled me to my feet. "Where are you taking me Aris Jones?" I said as he still held my hand pulling me away from the green house. "Well YN, you said you wanted somewhere quiet..." still wasn't really an explanation. We reached the steel doors that lead into the canteen where everyone else was still sitting, Oh shit. I was about to walk past everyone being dragged by some random boy to shuck knows where. People would have questions, that was for sure...
