Not dead, Not breathing...

Newt came out onto the roof and sat right next to me. "How did you know where I was?" I said wiping the tears off my face and pulling my legs up to my chest. He put his arm over my shoulders and pulled me into his chest where I rested my head "Are you dying?" He asked casting his eyes across the sandy terrain "No, not dying, I'm living" I said looking up into his scratched face. "How so?" He said frowning down at me "if I was dying then I wouldn't be here, I would be in some medical lab connected to tubes just so I could survive, I'm still living whatever remains of my life" I said solemnly, it was true, I refused to call it dying when it had so much more to do. "What did you mean when you said she'd make your heart stop again?" He asked looking out again toword the rising sun. "Well, Mia and I didn't loose all of our memories, they let us keep some, but only the very worst ones we had" I said sitting back up to distract from my wavering voice. "And when we were kids, we found out about my disease becuase my heart stopped" I said twirling my fingers through my hair as he stood up. He put his hand forward for me to take as he pulled me to my feet.

We walked away from the roof in silence, what I had said must actually be quite a fair amount to take in, I didn't really realise as having that memory and that sodding heart disease was just a normal part of my day to day life.

Once we had dismounted the ladder an announcement radioed over the intercom of a passing guard. He stopped right infront of Newt and I so we were able to hear everything that was said-
"Can someone please bring Subject A11 to interview room one please- repeate- that's subject A11 to interview one- Thank you." A11? My number. Newt and I exchanged glances, we both knew it was me they wanted. "A11, which ones that?" The guard muttered to himself, he must've been new "And Subject A15 aswell please" the radio began again as the guard walked away

"Who's A15?" Newt asked looking at me and furrowing his brow. "Mia..." I trailed off. We both looked at eachother for a minute before both sprinting down the corridor to the dorms. We both burst into my room where Mia was laying in her bed reading 'pride and prejudice'

"Mia, someone's looking for us" I said out of breath as I grabbed her arm to pull her up. "Who?" She asked, irritated. "I dunno but they're coming" I said sounding worried, what if we were going to be the next people to enter that room as bodies "Newt you have to go" she said as she stood up and began pushing him to the door way. He looked at me confused but I had no idea what was going on. Mia pushed him out into the corridor and slammed the door in his face as she lent against the door and cried.

"Mia, are you okay?" I asked as she sunk to her knees "No, I miss him so much" she blubbered through tears, I knew the feelings she was having, there used to be times I would break down after Ben died becuase of how much I missed him. "Look Mia, nothing can bring Gally back" I said as I sat down next to her and rested my hand on her back. "No, not Gally..." she protested as she held in a big sob "Wren" she shouted as she bawled again into my shoulder.

Hearing his name said made my heart skip a beat. Besides how did she even know who Wren was? "What do you mean?" I said worriedly as someone began banging on the door. I pulled Mia to her feet as the door swung open and me and my crying bestfriend were dragged down the corridor. We were definitely next.

The guards threw us into a room lit by a single light bulb, there were three chairs crowded around a table. Mia and I sat down in the chairs opposite eachother leaving the other between us. We were just sitting there, we just sat there for quite a while, then they bought her in.

Teresa stood infront of us, she was pale, her lips were dry and her arms were scratched, she looked sicker than ever. She sat down in the chair between us and stared at her hands. Mia and I looked at one another, my sister had arrived looking nothing like herself and we had nothing to do with no idea what to say.
