Morning broke and once again Adrien couldn't help but marvel at the small body against his. There weren't the unfortunate mishaps of the night before as they went to bed in a chaotic mess. Instead they'd made it into the bedroom and into their bed effortlessly, conversation flowing freely with an ease that hadn't been there the night before.

He'd opened himself up to her the previous night, and she hadn't run away. That in itself felt incredible. She'd asked the right questions, comforted him when he needed it, but didn't know how to ask for it. And she didn't throw him off the balcony after the Catwalker reveal. All in all, a good night for all.

Ladybug's hair fanned over her pillow, ebony over fallen snow, and he was sure he'd never see anything more gorgeous in his entire life. She looked so peaceful when she slept, without a care in the world. He could stay and watch her all day—but that wasn't an option.

Rolling slowly, he made his way out of the bed and headed towards the bathroom. He wasn't prepared to get ready for the day just yet, but there was no way he was going to have bad breath when his lady finally awoke.

Finishing off in the bathroom, he crept past the sleeping form in bed and headed downstairs into the kitchen. Last night was the first in a while where he had been tempted to try a little harder to woo Ladybug. She'd been the epitome of beauty—inside and out.

"Claws in," Adrien dropped the transformation, freeing Plagg, and grabbing some cheese from the fridge.

"So?" his kwami asked, hovering around Adrien.

"So, what?"

"How's the world's stupidest plan working out?" Plagg teased, laughing loudly as he settled beside the plate and began to eat the cheese.

"It's working."

Plagg raised an eyebrow, clearly stating he didn't believe a word of what Adrien had just said.

Adrien sighed, moving his head side to side and loosening the tension in his neck. "Fine! It's going as smoothly as an ice cream in the desert."

"What have you done now?"

"Why do you automatically think I've done something? It might be Ladybug, or Félix...or Kagami!"

"Woah! Fencer girl's here! You do realise the cap kid will be annoyed he wasn't invited to the party."

Adrien rubbed the heels of his hands into his eyes, moving around the kitchen and hoping to land in front of the small coffee maker—if there was ever a time to start drinking coffee, this was it. "It's not a party, Plagg."

"No it's not. It's a goddamn landfill! Why did he bring her?"

Adrien released his eyes, swatting absentmindedly at the black dots scattered in front of him. "Apparently they're dating now."

The silence was almost deafening. Plagg was never silent, which only made Adrien all the more curious. Turning around, he noticed his kwami sitting on the worktop, mouth agape and an interesting expression on his face. If Adrien wasn't so worried he'd broken his kwami, he probably would have laughed.

"Plagg?"

The kwami's face remained unchanged. A small flipper hand moving up as though signalling Adrien to give him a minute. Turning back, he continued to make himself a drink, the silence keeping him high on alert.

Finally, in the middle of Adrien's aggressive argument with the machine, random objects in his hand and water shooting out of a spout, Plagg spoke up. "I just want to make sure I have this right. Félix is here, pretending to be Adrien Agreste, who has also brought his new girlfriend with him—who just so happens to be Adrien's ex-girlfriend."

Adrien nodded. Not exactly rocket science.

"And this is the story he's told everyone," Plagg continued.

"Yup," Adrien agreed.

"Including Ladybug?"

"Yup."

Plagg snorted. "Oh man, this is going to be fun!"

"I may have accidentally dropped Catwalker's identity, too. There's some weird beef going on with Adrien and Ladybug and I just slipped."

"Beef? What's a cow got to do with it?"

Adrien was just about to answer before a call of his name sounded at the top of the stairs. "Time to transform back, my man," Adrien said, signalling his ring to Plagg.

"Before you say the words, just know I want daily updates about this."

Without waiting another moment, Adrien called on his transformation before powering down. Just as he was left in his black boxers and bare chest, Ladybug appeared around the corner in those silky little pyjamas that made him want to sin.

"Good morning, M'Lady."

"Morning, Kitty." She stopped at the bottom of the staircase, her face slightly flushed and her arms crossing over her chest as though trying to cover her tiny pyjamas. "Is that coffee I smell?"

"Oh!" Ripping his eyes away from her, he turned back to the machine (which was finally working) and found a second mug in the cupboard. "Would you like one?"

She hadn't answered, so he tried again. Silence encompassed the kitchen once again, and he started to wonder if he'd been imagining her arrival, until he looked over his shoulder and noticed where she was looking. "My eyes are up here."

Ladybug almost jumped out of her skin as she lifted her eyes from his butt, the flush deepening into a colour he had never seen on a face before. He couldn't help but chuckle. "It's okay. I don't mind being perved on by you."

She groaned and walked forward. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be staring."

He smirked, this was way too good to not play up. "Look all you want Bugaboo, I've worked hard on this, it's great to see the results." He spanked himself hard on the ass and, as a result, she burst out laughing.

Laughing along with her, he continued preparing the drinks, hoping this didn't taste as bad as what he thought it might.

He moved to her, carrying the two cups and placing them down. Leaning forward, he rested his elbows on the worksurface, hands cupping the mug and a gleaming smile on his face.

"So, what did you want to do today? We've got quite a while until the first round of the contest."

She grimaced, her nose scrunching up like an adorable little rabbit. She looked so cute. He wondered if this expression was one she gave to her friends on a daily basis. It looked just like when he tried to get Marinette to eat pineapple on pizza. "I was thinking about maybe going down to the beach. They have water sports there and thought it'd be fun to do whilst in costume."

"Water sports? That sounds great. Would you not do it out of costume?" he asked curiously.

She took her own mug and lifted it to her lips. She grimaced again, her nose scrunching more. "I have thalassophobia, mainly with the sea, and the thought of going as me in just a swimsuit gives me the heebie jeebies."

"Heebie jeebies? Oh wow!" He started laughing. "Do you come from the 50's or something? Let me guess, Ladybug will be turning the big eight-zero on her next birthday."

She snorted, reaching out and smacking him on the bicep. "Stop!" she begged.

Oh, boy, there was something rather intriguing about having her beg him.

"Come on, then," he said with a smile. "Let's get ready and head to the beach. I'm interested in seeing how wild you're going to get."

She giggled again, and his heart flipped in his chest.

"We can get some coffee on the way down too." Ladybug dropped him a wink, she turned on her heel and walked away, swinging her ass side to side as she walked up the staircase and back to their bedroom.

Now I'm the one staring!

Distracting himself, he grabbed the mug and took a swig of his freshly brewed coffee, before grimacing and placing the coffee cup down. Yep, most certainly coffee first.
