Dark or Light

Chapter 17

I slowly look over my shoulder to see who it is but this person doesn't look familiar at all. I never seen him around school and I pretty much know everyone that goes to this school.

"Who do you think you are?" I ask bravely then I turn off my phone and cross my arms, holding my phone under my arm. He stood up straight and he became taller than I expected. I could see his face clearly and I say, he is pretty attractive but he also appeared scary. He had a threatening look.

"I'm just a friend trying to keep Legna's out of trouble," He said as he stared into my eyes. I was so stuck to his eyes that I didn't even notice that he had taken my phone. I snap out of it when he lost eye contact with me.

"Hey!" I slightly shout and reach to grab my phone. I watch him delete the video and my eyes grew in fright thinking of what's going to happen to my family. "What have you done?" I mumbled under my breath staring into space as I start to panic then he grab my hand, placing my phone in it.

"Saving your family and Legna's life," He said then he turn around, walking away as I stare at my phone in confusion.

"What do you mean?" I ask myself and I look up to ask him the same question but he was already gone. Where did he..?

Legna's POV

After Happy had left, I had Knight explain to me what was happening between Happy and Minhee. I was sorta sad that Happy would do that but if it was meant for her family, I see why she would do that.

He told me that he was gonna meet me in study hall then he saw what Happy was doing by recording Mark and me. Knight said he had saw what Mark did, meaning that he saw him kiss my cheek and admit that he was jealous. It was sorta adorable, honestly but it wasn't that big of a deal. It sorta is since I liked it and Knight likes me.

I met up with Happy after school and confronted her with the drama, and she apologized saying that she didn't want to do it. I accept her apology and everything went back to normal though she had told me that someone she never seen before had saved her family's company and me. I wonder who it could've been.

Mark had pick me up in his car and took me to his house since I had agree to hangout with him. We arrived at his house then he unbuckle his seat belt.

"So, what did you plan for us to do today?" I ask Mark then he look over at me.

"Nothing much, just want to chill," He said and got out of the car then I blink staring at my door.

That's what all guys say before they try to get into your pants. Mark isn't that type of guy!..is he?

I snap out of my thoughts and shook my head as Mark open my door and I step out. I look up at his house and damn...it was huge.

"You said you live alone, right?" I ask and follow him to his doorstep as he unlock his door. He nod. "It's nice," I said in a low tone when he didn't reply and he step aside from the entrance, holding the door open.

"Welcome to my home," he said and it was just amazing. I slowly walk inside the house in amazement and look at every inch of the house, one by one. He laugh softly watching me look around then he close his door and took off his jacket.

After he gave me a tour of his house, we went to his living room and he called for pizza. I sat on his couch and he sat beside me then turn on the TV.

"What do you feel like watching?" He ask and I glance over at him slightly blushing with my mouth slightly open, trying to talk. I guess it was just too embarrassing to even say.

"I-I don't watch TV anymore...," I said and he nod slowly while he made a thinking face then he went on Netflix. He scroll through the movies we could watch then I pointed at the screen as soon as a movie caught my eye. "That one!"

He blink staring at the title and the cover then look over at me raising an eyebrow, laughing lightly. "You wanna watch Finding Nemo?" I blush nodding and chuckling slightly, tucking my hair behind my ear. I glance up at him and he stare at me, gulping his saliva down. "You know, you're really cute, right?"

"I get that a lot," I said then he play the movie as he blush, turning his head away. I sigh lightly to myself and sit up looking at the screen.

After about a good 5 minutes, we stayed in the silence watching the movie. The awkwardness between us kept us quite and the random flirting. I didn't want to make it weirder as it is with the drama between me and his girlfriend.

Mark open his mouth about to say something then the doorbell rang. I flinch because I was out of it and Mark chuckle at my reaction then stood up. "I swear, you get cuter by the minute," he said and walk past me, rubbing the top of my head on his way to the front door.

I smile to myself, staring at the ground and scooted to the edge of the couch after Mark had placed the pizza in front of the couch on the coffee table. He sat beside me but closer than before. I open the box, taking a slice and gave it to him before I got myself one. He thanked me then turn down the volume on the TV and sat up straight, looking at me.

"So tell me about yourself, Ms. Sky," Mark said and turn his body to me, giving me his full attention. I already took a bite of my slice and I chuckle, covering my mouth then faced him nodding.

"Well, I love this book called Dark Vs. Light," I said as Mark's eyes glow and he smile, looking down at his lap. "I suppose you know the book, also."

"Of course," he said. "It's just funny how you, Knight, and me are friends. It's like we're the real life version of the characters," Mark said, chuckling then took a bite of his pizza and I started at Mark in relief.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this.

We stay silent for a bit then Mark cleared his throat, placing his pizza down and look into my eyes.

"What's also funny is that we don't know which side got Legna," Mark said in confusion and I put down my pizza also, shrugging. "If one side did, which one do you think would've won her?" He said and raised an eyebrow.

I laugh at his question and he stare at me serious then I slowly stop, clearing my throat. "Oh, you're serious...you really want me to answer?" I ask and he nod as I sigh. "Hmm...I don't know. They both equal out her life and I don't know who she deserves more."

Mark stare at me like he understood the book's situation and I look up at the TV, avoiding eye contact. This just got awkward again. In the corner of my eye, I could see Mark nodding slowly to himself then I turn my head to look at him. He slowly lean forward towards me and for some reason...I didn't move.
