"I'm late to school," I thought to myself as I look at my watch, waiting for the bus to come.

Why is the bus late today?...

The rain is pounding hard onto the ground as a puddle was building on the streets and sidewalks. I sigh and ran my fingers through my long, curly black hair. Today is not my day.

I gotta walk to school- I gotta! I'll miss out on my exams! But the rain...Goddamn the rain! Why today?!

I'll have to run to school.

I pull my hoodie over my head and wrap my arms around my books then made a run for it. The rain soak into the back of my hoodie and the cold water drops slashing against my cheek. I heard other footsteps running then I look up to see but it was too late. The person crash into me too fast and I fell to the ground in a puddle on the street. My books fell on the sidewalk luckily away from the rain.

A bright light was coming my way and my head turn to look at the white light. I try to get up but my hoodie is hook on to something and I can't get up.

Then I felt someone grab my forearm and yank me up from the ground, tearing the back of my hoodie. The car sped by and the person wrap their arms around me turning their back to the car as it splash water on the person. Everything was happening too fast, too soon.

My heart is beating quick but it's not pounding. My eyes widen and I could feel my eyes dilate in surprise. What had just happen?...

I stood still in shock then I swallow my saliva. My head slowly lift up to look up at the person to see who the person is, but his hoodie is covering his face.

"Thank you..." I mumble under my breath, and his arms slowly loosen his grip. "What's your name?" I look up at him. He just turn his head away picking up his umbrella.

"Mark," he answer then he put the umbrella over the both of us, and he pick up my books. He didn't reveal his face to me, but I guess I won't ask questions because he technically almost got me killed but also saved me.

"I'll carry that," I said to him in a low tone extending my arms out to him so I could take it. He didn't give them back so I pull back my arms and nod.

"I'll walk you," he said in a deep, sweet, soft tone. Sending shivers down my spine.

"You don't have to," I blush looking down and push the middle of my glass up because it was slipping on my nose. He put his arm around my shoulder while holding the umbrella around us and force me to walk. I was freaking out in my mind.

'What if he's a murderer?! Or a rapist!' I thought to myself as I felt my heart start to beat against my rib cage. My pulse was so strong that I could feel it beating on my neck and my fingertips.

This is the most odd morning I had ever had.
