CHAPTER three

maybe punching someone while high and drunk wasn't the best idea, as Jayda's knuckles were bruised from the impact.

the noise and chatter of the hospital began filling everyone's ears, while they walked to the waiting area to find the boys

"wagwan." Jaxon greeted everyone with a fist-bump, while Jayda got side-hugged by them.

now that everybody was present, they cautiously approached the reception, some of them never entering into a hospital.

"you good?" Jaxon looked down to her sister, who seemed like she was about to fall over at any minute.

Jayda just nodded, before yawning which confirmed that she was just in need for more sleep, and an aspirin. Skreamer eyed her for a moment, checking if she was good, then turned back when he concluded.

"hey, do you know what room Tazer's in?" Twosie questioned, leaning on the small counter.

"Tayo Amusan." Jayda corrected, shaking her head at him. Twosie turned his head to her and mocked the way she spoke, imitating long nails on his hands to exaggerate it. she rolled her eyes at him, causing Tiny and Dots to laugh.

the nurse began typing on her computer, and turned her head towards Jayda. "how do i spell his last name?"

"a-m-u-s-a-n."

"man, she's peng you know." Dots muttered, making Twosie chuckle and mutter something back.

"he's in room 109." she communicated, nodding her head at the group.

"thanks." she and Twosie smiled at the nurse, as Jayda began making her way to the room with the others with Skreamer next to her.

although Twosie stopped in his tracks and leaned back at the counter, with a grin on his face. "excuse me, though, nurse. i also do have a problem." he began, and every one knew already his intentions. "i tend to have a really big swelling in between my legs whenever-"

"stop fucking about and come, man." Skreamer scolded, kissing his teeth as everyone chuckled apart from the him and Jayda, who just shook her head once again.

they walked through the corridors, and before entering the room, she hesitated.

"come on." Skreamer ushered her to follow, gesturing with his hands.

sighing, Jayda entered the room stood on the left side of the bed, next to where his small counter was.

"what you saying, you cool?" Skreamer asked, as Tazer put down the fruit he was holding in his hand. not knowing what to say, or do, Jayda picked up the clementine and began to take off the peel, finishing the job for him while they spoke.

he lifted up the hospital gown to reveal a patch on his stomach, that had some blood stained on the inside of it. "it's light." Tazer shrugged, crossing his arms to slightly cover the wound after he put the gown down.

most definitely the boys didn't notice that the injured boy was doing his best to not make eye-contact with Jayda, but it sure was clear to the girl herself. the Alana girl shook her head at him, and silently scoffed.

"yo Taze, we just wanna say we're sorry for leaving you." Tiny excused, while he sat on the chair next to the bed. "there were just too many of them."

"it's cool."

"no it's not cool man." Jaxon spoke up, stepping a bit closer to the bed.

"all this to prove what?" Skreamer added, "that you're hard as Krazy?"

even though it was a direct question, the Amusan boy stayed silent-unsure of his motives. the group looked at each other, all wondering the same question.

"fuck it though man, whatever." Skreamer brushed off, finally removing the tension away from Tazer. "next time, if you're jamming, i'm jamming with you."

he then leaned on the railing of the hospital bed and spoke once again. "we die together, you feel me?" Skreamer reached to dap him up, but after doing so Tazer was clearly hurt from sitting up, as he closed his eyes in pain.

a puzzled expression appeared on Twosie's face, observing and listening on their conversation. "you man are on your own with that dying shit still." he gestured, causing the group to chuckle at his words.

"dickhead." Jaxon scoffed, going up to Twosie and shoving him jokingly.

the room became quiet again, when Jayda placed the peeled clementine back on the small counter next to him, finally making Tazer look at her. Jayda raised her eyes, as their gaze met once another time ever since the fight. realising the tension, Skreamer muttered something to the group, before they all went outside to give them space and privacy to talk.

"thanks." Tazer nodded, grabbing the fruit and opening it in half.

silence spoke on their behalf, as the pair didn't utter a singular word. Jayda fidgeted with her fingers, occasionally touching the bruises on her knuckles; yet this action wasn't left unseen by the Amusan boy. "what happened to your hand?" Tazer worried, attempting to sit up but he winced in pain again.

with a sigh, Jayda sat down on the bed, near his legs and showed him her bruised knuckles. "you got stabbed," the girl began, when Tazer took her hand to inspect it. "and you're worrying about me?"

Tazer was unsure of what to say again, not able to formulate a phrase that described what he was feeling. he just took her hand into his own, and placed his other hand on top, before lifting his gaze.

"listen," he looked around the room, finding the correct words to say. "i'm... sorry." Tazer gulped, this time sure of his words.

"everything's good." Jayda let out a small smile, which she didn't expect to do when she first walked in. "don't worry, worry for yourself first." she pointed with her free hand the wound, and the reason why he was at the hospital in the first place.

her mind still hadn't forgotten about the fight, but she didn't want to bring it up in the moment, feeling that it wasn't appropriate to speak about. Jayda was dubious on forgiving him so quickly, she felt like not much time has passed so she decided it would be brought up in the future.

but one thing Tazer despised about her, was that her smile was so contagious, that it made him copy her expression despite the condition he was in. but it was thanks to her that he somewhat felt normal during everything that was happening, as she was basically the glue from keeping him warping from reality.
