CHAPTER five

days passed after the event, and Jayda tried to see if something similar would happen again—but nothing unusual of that nature appeared. the following day of the random creation of the wall, she decided to go to the street once more, only to find it completely disappeared.

so since there was a lack of evidence and knowledge, she and Jaxon brushed it off, while he just continued to think it was Jesus.

to pass some time, she and her brother walked to the estate's usual hangout spot, where plenty of the people from the buildings came to talk and chill to music while some smoked. Jaxon and Twosie were smoking a spliff, when Twosie came across a video on his phone.

"ayo, dem man done a diss track about us." he announced, catching the attention of most as he clicked the video and put the volume on max.

"Chucky?" Jayda asked confused, inching closer to Twosie so she could hear properly. the man nodded his head when the beat started: Chucky began with a few flows just to start off the song, until he name-dropped following after a few personal insults.

the Sixer leader rapped about the Towerboys in general, those connected to them and how they were all 'pussios.'

Jayda thought that it was childish, until she heard her name being said, making her furrow her eyebrows. the lyrics were fast, so once he mentioned her, he passed on another person. she didn't understand it well, but it was something along the lines of how Chucky was going to steal Jayda away from Tazer, also insulting Jaxon.

"this guys' mad." Jayda scoffed, making Tiny and Dots nod their head in agreement when a familiar figure made his way towards them with his hands in his pockets. when Tazer stopped, he turned towards Jayda and nodded at her, muttering a small: "hey."

"hi." she greeted back with a small smile on her face, before listening the track again.

the two weren't really big fans of PDA, they didn't hate it, but they were too shy to do anything in front of the others, and it was reasonable since they rarely did stuff in private when they were in good terms anyways.

they still hadn't talked about what happened at the hospital, and the need to talk to each other was burning inside of both of them.

"what you man listening to?" Tazer questioned with a blank stare on his face.

"Chucky dropped a track dissing man."

"bare cap, but it's wavey though." Twosie continued to smoke his spliff, as Tazer joined to listen to the lyrics.

'i'll turn that Sixer Tilbury Estate with the bruky.

ran down Twosie, ran down Skreamer,

cheefed up Tazer, i left that bloody..."

"turn it off." Tazer demanded, yet he spoke with a calm voice. Twosie furrowed his eyebrows at him and just continued playing the song, still smoking. "ay chill, bro—"

"don't fucking tell me to chill." Tazer snapped, getting close to the guy. "a man spilt my blood, and you're here dancing to it?" he gestured towards him and his phone.

the people around started looking at the group, some commentating on the situation. "it's crazy, it's mad."

Skreamer was clearly disappointed at the sight, as he and Jayda both shook their heads.

Twosie licked his lips, before facing Tazer again. "my bad bro, my bad. i didn't—"

"shut the fuck up." he was interrupted once again by Tazer walking off, going to sit down on the stairs just a couple of meters away.

Jayda understood his anger, and thought his reaction was justified because of the things he just went through. yet, there was still a part of her deep down that was lowkey scared of him whenever he acted out or snapped, she never knew when he would do so, and what he would do.

she knew that being able to lead people, be demanding, be intimidating, were key rules to be a leader, but not if they applied to him. she didn't comments on anything that happened in that moment, afraid he would say something to her to even though he would never.

Jayda didn't like this side of him, as it was one of the main reasons why they fought.

kissing her teeth, she eyed Twosie while walking towards Tazer, who was now sat down with his head hung low.

"Twosie, man, why you always doing this?" Tiny could be heard scolding his friend, causing Jayda to almost chuckle if she wasn't near Tazer.

she sat down next to him on his right and turned her head towards the boy, giving him a small smile like she did before. "you okay?" she spoke, her voice soft and calm, yet her face was a blank stare.

even though they seemed in good terms after the visit at the hospital, they both knew the time to talk would eventually come around.

Tazer finally raised his head and looked back at her, as a smile also popped up on his face. "yeah." he breathed out, his gaze softening.

Jayda casually looked over her shoulder when she began hearing Skreamer, Twosie, and some others of the group yelling at each other, when the boy next to her shook his head—a look of guilt plastered on his face.

"it's not your fault," she began, "you were right." she affirmed, reasoning that Twosie went over the top.

Tazer just simply nodded, looking forward and not even attempting to engage in a conversation with her. noticing this, Jayda scoffed, kissing her teeth once again and getting up to leave him there.

when she came back to the group, Skreamer nodded her towards her, as a sign of asking if it went well. Jayda crossed her arms and leaned on the wall next to him, which confirmed his question that it didn't go as expected.

but one thing was, if Jayda stayed just a bit longer, he would've eventually turned around when he came to his senses and calmed down. while the same thing went for her: if he had just looked at her, glanced at her, or even just muttered a word, she would've stayed on his side.

yet once more, timing became an obstacle for the up-coming pair of adults.
