I woke to the gentle hum of my phone, the morning light casting a warm glow across my room. Blinking away sleep, I reached for it and saw Jake's message waiting for me:

"Good morning! I hope you slept well."

A smile spread across my face as I read his words. It was such a simple message, but it made me feel unexpectedly happy. Hastily typing a reply, I said:

"Good morning! I did, thank you. How about you? Busy day ahead?"

Setting my phone aside, I swung my legs out of bed and made my way to the shower. The warm water was refreshing, washing away the last traces of sleep. Thoughts of Jake lingered in my mind, his message replaying like a soothing melody.

After drying off and getting dressed in comfortable jeans and a light sweater, I headed to the kitchen. Breakfast was a simple affair, but each bite was savored, the morning calm wrapping around me like a comforting embrace.

With a plan to explore more of Seoul in mind, I gathered my essentials and ventured out into the bustling streets. The city was alive with energy, and I lost myself in local markets, marveled at traditional architecture, and indulged in street food delights.

By mid-afternoon, I felt a magnetic pull back to the serene Han River. The bustling city faded into a distant hum as I found a secluded spot along the riverbank, nestled under the shade of a large willow tree. Sitting down on a weathered wooden bench, I allowed myself to soak in the tranquility that enveloped me.

The Han River flowed gently before me, its surface adorned with delicate ripples that danced in response to the soft breeze. The sunlight filtered through the leaves above, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow on the ground. Birds chirped in the background, adding a melodic touch to the peaceful ambiance.

Pulling out my phone, I couldn't resist the urge to check for a reply from Jake. However, the screen remained silent, devoid of any new messages. A twinge of disappointment flickered briefly before I reminded myself of Jake's demanding schedule. With a resigned sigh, I tucked my phone away and decided to immerse myself in the natural beauty around me.

The setting sun painted the sky in a breathtaking array of colors-shades of orange, pink, and purple blended seamlessly, creating a canvas that seemed too perfect to be real. I reached for my phone, eager to capture the ephemeral beauty of the moment. Each click of the shutter was a testament to the fleeting nature of time, freezing the tranquil scene in pixels and preserving its essence forever.

Sending the photo to Jake, I added a brief message:

"Watching the sunset at Han River."

As twilight painted the sky in shades of pink and gold, I reluctantly left the riverbank and returned to my apartment. Cooking dinner became a therapeutic ritual, the aroma of spices and flavors filling the air. I settled on the couch afterward, drawn into the captivating world of a Korean drama.

Just as I was about to change into my nightwear, a message from Jake lit up my phone screen. Eagerly opening it, my heart skipped a beat at his words:

"Hey Chloe, sorry for the late reply. We've been busy preparing for our upcoming schedule. Your photo of the sunset looks amazing, by the way. It must have been breathtaking to see it in person."

Grinning at his thoughtful response, I quickly replied:

"No worries at all! I understand. And yes, the sunset was truly magical. How's everything going with your preparations?"

We exchanged a few more messages, sharing snippets of our day and thoughts about Seoul. As our conversation wound down, Jake wished me a good night, and I reciprocated the sentiment. With each exchange, I felt a connection growing stronger.

After bidding Jake goodnight, I prepared for bed, my mind buzzing with thoughts of the day and the unexpected friendship blossoming with Jake. Nestling into my sheets, I smiled to myself, grateful for the turn my time in Seoul had taken.
