23: New Home

We finally arrived at the building, and on the way, Jake explained that the members were split between two apartments. He wanted to offer me his room, but their manager also had a room in that apartment. They weren't sure how he would react to a girl staying over, so we headed directly to the other apartment where I would meet all the members.

The thought alone of being in a room with all seven Enhypen members—Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, Ni-ki—felt surreal. Now, standing in front of the door, my heart raced with excitement. Jake knocked, and I heard footsteps and muffled voices approaching.

The door opened, and Heeseung stood there with a small smile on his lips.

"Hey Heeseung, what's up?" Jake greeted him.

"Hey Jake. Hi, Chloe. Let me take your bag," Heeseung offered, reaching for my bag. Our hands brushed briefly, and we both looked at each other, slightly shocked and a bit embarrassed.

Stay calm, Chloe. Why are you so nervous? You need to make a good impression.

Heeseung and Jake walked inside. Jake turned around, "Are you coming in, Chloe? Or do you plan to sleep in the hallway?" He laughed and tilted his head playfully.

"I'm coming!" I replied, stepping into the apartment.

In the living area, I saw five more people. Some faces were more familiar than others.

As we gathered with the others, Jake introduced me, "Jungwon, Ni-ki, Chloe and Heeseung already know each other. Chloe, these are Sunghoon, Jay, and Sunoo."

We exchanged greetings, and I gave a slight bow out of respect.

The room was filled with a comfortable, friendly atmosphere despite the initial awkwardness. Sunghoon stepped forward first, extending his hand. "Nice to meet you, Chloe. Welcome."

"Nice to meet you too, Sunghoon," I said, shaking his hand.

Jay followed, giving me a warm smile. "Hey, Chloe. I hope you're holding up okay with all this chaos."

"Thanks, Jay. It's a bit overwhelming, but I'm managing," I replied honestly.

Sunoo was next, his cheerful demeanor instantly putting me at ease. "Hi, Chloe! Don't worry, we'll make sure you feel at home."

"Thank you, Sunoo," I responded, appreciating his kind words.

Ni-ki grinned widely. "Chloe, come on, let's get you settled. You must be tired."

Jungwon, standing beside Ni-ki, added, "We're glad to have you here. Make yourself comfortable."

With their warm welcomes, I felt the nervous tension ease away. Heeseung had already taken my bag to a corner of the room, and Jake motioned for me to sit on the couch.

"Do you need anything?" Jake asked, concerned.

"I'm okay for now, thank you," I said, feeling a bit shy under their attentive gazes.

As we settled into the living room, they began to ask about my experience in Seoul, how I was coping with the sudden storm, and my plans moving forward. Their genuine interest and friendliness made me feel at ease.

Jake took the lead in explaining the living arrangements. "So, Chloe, you'll be staying here with us until we can figure out your flight situation. We'll make sure you're comfortable."

I nodded, grateful for their hospitality. "Thank you all so much. I really appreciate it."

Sunoo chimed in, "No need to thank us. We're happy to help. Besides, it's nice to have someone new around."

As the evening progressed, we chatted more about their experiences as a group, their favorite memories, and even some funny behind-the-scenes stories. I found myself laughing and feeling more comfortable with each passing minute.

The storm outside continued to rage, but inside, I felt a sense of warmth and security. It was surreal to be sitting in a room with Enhypen, sharing stories and laughter, and yet it felt so natural. They were not just idols but real people with whom I was forming real connections.

As the evening wound down and everyone began retreating to their rooms, Heeseung approached me with a kind smile. "Since we don't have a guest room, you can sleep in my room. The bed is freshly made, and I'll sleep on the sofa. Feel at home."

He took my things and carried them to his room. I quickly followed him, protesting, "What? No, I can't just take your sleeping spot!"
