I was running through the forest, my breath coming in ragged gasps, my heart pounding in my chest. The trees loomed around me, their branches like skeletal fingers reaching out to grab me. Behind me, I could hear Aziel's voice, twisted with rage.

"You can't escape, Alora. I will take my baby. You can't hide from me., he's mine from my seed!"

I glanced over my shoulder, seeing his dark silhouette gaining on me. Panic surged through me, and I pushed myself to run faster. My baby—our baby—was nestled safely in my arms, but I could feel it's fear.

Ahead, I saw a tunnel, at the end, a bright light. I began running towards it but it felt so near yet so distant.

I heard a growl behind me and I looked back again, this time, Aziel had shifted to Zev and he was even nearer than before.

Panic coursed through my veins, pumping more blood and I pushed myself even more. I will not allow him to take my baby, never.

A soft, familiar voice called out to me, seeming familiar. "Alora, come to me. Hurry!"

I ran towards the voice. But just as I was about to reach the source, a cold hand clamped down on my shoulder, yanking me back. I screamed, clutching my baby tightly.

I jolted awake, my scream echoing in the room. My breath came in quick, shallow bursts, my heart still racing. Sebastian was there, his eyes wide with concern. Without thinking, I threw myself into his arms, clinging to him desperately.

"Don't let him take my baby," I sobbed, my voice trembling with fear. "Please, Sebastian. Don't let Aziel take my baby away from me."

Sebastian held me tightly, his strong arms wrapping around me protectively. "I won't let that happen, Alora. I promise you, no one will take your baby from you."

"Please don't go Seb, don't leave me here."

"I won't Alora. I'll hold you till you sleep."

"No! I want you to stay. I'm scared Seb."

Sebastian nodded and slipped into bed with me. He spooned me and kissed my neck making me moan.

"I'm here Lora, I won't go. So you don't scream the house down."

We both chuckled and I yawned.

"Please don't let go Seb." I said as I accepted the darkness, this time, it was peaceful.

We both heard a gentle knock on the door and Sebastian groaned, pulling me even closer and inhaling the scent of my hair.

"Whoever it is, come back in two hours."

I giggled and grounded my ass on his morning wood, causing him to growl.

"Be careful Ora, or you might just awaken the beast."

Someone barged in and we jolted up. Sebastian covered me completely with the blanket and growled at the intruder.

"What the hell are you doing in her bed?" Elias frowned at both of us.

"Nothing happened and I know you are a deep sleeper but I'm surprised you didn't here when she almost brought down the house with the nightmare screams."

Sebastian's hair loosened from the bun he tied, falling to his face, and I unconsciously tucked it behind his ear making him purr.

If Elias heard the purr, he sure pretended he didn't and faced me with concern.

"Are you alright Alora."

"I am. Thank you Alpha, Seb calmed me down."

"Get away from her this instant Seb." Elias growled at Sebastian.

He started grumbling how Elias was a cockblocker all the time and was no fun.

"Alora, there's something you need to know."

I tried to steady myself on the bed. "What is it?"

Elias hesitated, his expression pained. "Two days ago I sent a pack member to spy on your pack and he returned with a news last night. Aziel... he has already marked Constance."

The news hit me like a punch to the gut. My breath caught in my throat, and a new wave of tears threatened to spill. I felt a mix of emotions—betrayal, anger, and an aching sadness.

"Ora..." Sebastian tried to take a step towards me but I halted him.

"I need to be alone," I whispered, hugging the blanket. "I need to think."

They both nodded, "Take all the time you need."

The silence was heavy and I sank into the bed further.

"He marked her Alora, our mate chose another woman than us, he really hates us." Lyra whimpered.

I hated when Lyra was sad.

"He's moved on, and I'm here, carrying his child, he's fucking Alpha pup."

I touched my stomach, feeling the faint flutter of life within. "What am I going to do? How can I protect you from a world that seems so determined to tear us apart?"

Tears flowed freely and I cried my heart out. Lyra whimpering at the intense pain.

Later that day, I found Sebastian sitting on the porch. I sat beside him, the weight of my decision settling in my chest.

"Sebastian," I began, my voice steady. "I want to take things slow. I can't rush into anything, but... I'd like to be your Beta mate."

His eyes lit up with a mixture of surprise and joy. "Are you sure, Alora? I don't want to pressure you."

I nodded, a small smile forming on my lips. "I'm sure. You've been there for me, and I want to give this a chance."

He reached out, taking my hand in his. "Thank you, Alora. We'll take it one step at a time, together."

He leaned forward to kiss me gently and I reciprocated, deepening the kiss. I worked my fingers into his hair and tugged it. He growled and nipped my bottom lip.

"Ora..."

He broke the kiss and stroked my hair. "You are so beautiful."

"As you are. I love how white your hair is, it's angelic."

He smiled and gave me one ear buds to listen to the song he was playing.

"This is Spanish."

"Marbella by Luis Fonsi. Did I mention I'm Spanish?"

"Oh you didn't."

The days that followed were filled with the pack's efforts to cheer me up. They organized various activities, from picnics in the meadow to game nights in the hall. Each event was designed to bring laughter and joy, and slowly, the weight on my heart began to lift.

One afternoon, as the sun dipped low in the sky, we gathered for a bonfire. The flames danced and crackled, casting a warm glow on everyone's faces. Laughter echoed in the night air, and for the first time in a long while, I felt at peace.

Sebastian sat beside me, his arm around my shoulders. "Feeling better?"

I nodded, leaning into him. "Yes. Thank you, Sebastian. Thank you for everything."

He smiled, pressing a gentle kiss to my temple. "You're welcome, Ora. Always."
