ALORA
Lily and I were out in the field, playing with Effy who had grown really fast. Effy was darting between the tall grass, her little paws barely making a sound as she ran.
"Catch her, Lily!" I laughed, watching the girl chase after the kitten with gleeful determination.
"I'm trying, she's just too fast!" Lily giggled, her arms outstretched as she made a playful attempt to scoop Effy up.
As I stood there, soaking in the moment, I felt a sudden, sharp pain in my abdomen. I doubled over slightly, clutching my belly. Then, to my surprise, I felt a rush of warm liquid down my legs.
"Did you just pee yourself?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with innocence.
"No, sweetheart," I said, trying to keep my voice calm despite the panic rising within me. "My water just broke. Lily, I need you to find Sebastian, quickly."
Lily nodded, her face serious now. She took off running towards the packhouse, her little legs moving as fast as they could. I tried to stay calm, breathing deeply as another wave of pain hit me.
"Everything's going to be fine," I whispered to myself, trying to stay focused. "Just breathe, Alora. Just breathe."
A few minutes later, a pack member found me and helped me to the infirmary. Each step was agonizing, the contractions growing stronger and more frequent. By the time we reached the infirmary, I was gripping the person's arm so tightly that I feared I might leave bruises.
"Sebastian!" I heard Lily's voice echo through the halls. "It's Alora! She's having the baby!"
Sebastian burst into the room moments later, his eyes wide with fear and concern. "Alora," he said, rushing to my side. "I'm here. I'm right here."
"It hurts," I whimpered, squeezing his hand as another contraction ripped through me.
"I know," he said, his voice soothing. "You're strong, Alora. You can do this."
Doctor Lila was there, instructing me to breathe and to relax, but the pain was unbearable.
"Relax?" I snapped at her, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Why don't you try pushing a watermelon through a keyhole and then tell me to relax!"
"Just focus on your breathing," Lila said calmly. "You're doing great, Alora."
"Easy for you to say," I grumbled, my grip on Sebastian's hand tightening.
Sebastian winced but didn't pull away. "You can squeeze my hand as hard as you need to," he said, his voice filled with love and support.
"Push, Alora," Lila instructed, her voice firm. "With all your might."
I gathered all my strength and pushed, the pain searing through me. "Sebastian, if you ever try to say anything about pushing, I swear I'll—"
"I know, I know," he said, his voice strained as I nearly crushed his fingers.
"One more push," Lila urged. "You're almost there."
With a final, agonizing push, I felt a sudden release. The room was filled with the sound of a newborn's cry, and I collapsed back onto the bed, utterly exhausted.
"Heres's your boy, he's a strong Alpha." Lila announced, wrapping the tiny baby in a soft blanket before placing him on my chest.
Tears filled my eyes as I looked down at my son. He was perfect, with a head full of dark hair and a strong, healthy cry. "Rome-Lester," I whispered, running a finger gently over his cheek. "His name is Rome-Lester."
Sebastian was beside me, his eyes filled with awe as he looked at my son. "He's beautiful," he said softly, his voice choked with emotion. "You did amazing, Alora."
I smiled weakly, my body drained from the effort. "Thank you for being here," I said, my eyes closing as sleep began to overtake me.
"Always," Sebastian replied, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead and then to Rome-Lester's tiny head. "I'll always be here."
"I'm feeling sleepy Seb." I tried to fight the sleep.
"Don't fight it Ora, sleep. Your son would be here waiting for you."
I accepted the sleep and I slipped into a dark quiet void.

When I woke up, the room was quiet and dimly lit. Rome-Lester was nestled in Sebastian's arms, his eyes never leaving his.
Sebastian noticed I was awake and handed the baby to me. Rome-Lester having sensed he was in a more familiar arm, opened his eyes and I met a set of beautiful pale green eyes, just like his father's.
"He's so small," I whispered, marveling at the tiny bundle in my arms.
"But he's strong," Sebastian said, his voice filled with pride. "Just like his mother."
I smiled, feeling a warmth spread through my chest. "I can't believe he's here," I said softly.
"Neither can I," Sebastian admitted. "But I'm so glad he is."
"Can I feed him?"
"Yes you can. Lila said the first milk is very nutritious for the baby."
Sebastian helped me release the knot of the rope behind me and I brought out my breast, guiding Rome with my fingers. Rome immediately found my nipple and latched unto it greedily.
"He reminds me of a certain someone." Sebastian wiggled his eyebrows at me and I scowled.
"I'm not a glutton." I huffed.
"I never said that but you have said it all, guilty as charged."
"Fuck off."
Sebastian closed Rome's ears. "Hey hey, don't let that be his first word."
I growled playfully and burped Rome when he was done feeding.
I felt Lyra immediately forming a bond with Rome and she purred. He was a part of me, a part of my past and my future.

As the days passed, the pack rallied around us, showering us with love and support. Lily was thrilled to have a baby around, always eager to help with anything she could. Even Effy, seemed to understand the importance of this new addition to our lives.
Sebastian was a constant presence, his protectiveness only growing stronger. He doted on Rome-Lester, always ready to lend a hand.
One evening, as I sat in the rocking chair, cradling Rome-Lester in my arms, Sebastian came in and knelt beside me. "I've been thinking," he said, his voice serious. "About the future. About us."
I looked down at him, my heart pounding. "What about it?"
"I want to be with you, Alora," he said, his eyes filled with determination. "I want to be a father to Rome-Lester. I want to be your mate and I want you to be my Beta mate. We have come so far and I would want nothing more than to have a future with you, and you being my present."
Tears filled my eyes as I looked at him. "Sebastian, I... I don't know what to say."
"Just say yes," he whispered, his hand gently covering mine.
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his words. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw nothing but love and sincerity. "Yes," I said softly. "Yes, I want that too."
He smiled, his eyes shining with happiness. "Then it's settled," he said, kissing me gently. "We'll be a family."
I smiled back and he kissed me softly on my lips. Rome cooed and Seb kissed him on the forehead.
"Cheers to the future with us."
"Cheers."
