ALORA

The pack grounds were alive with the sounds of training—grunts, shouts, and the clash of weapons filled the air as Elias' pack prepared for the Royal Warrior recruitment. My fingers itched to join them, to feel the adrenaline of combat, but no one allowed me into the training grounds. Elias had given strict orders to keep me away.

Frustration bubbled inside me. I couldn't just stand by and watch. I needed to be able to defend myself, especially with Aziel and Constance's presence at that time. Marching up to Elias, who was overseeing the training, I took a deep breath.

"Elias, please. Let me train with them. I need to be able to defend myself as a beta mate," I begged.

Elias looked at me, his expression softening slightly. "Alora, it's not that I don't believe in your capabilities, but this training is intense. It's meant for seasoned warriors."

"I understand that," I insisted. "But I need to be strong. I can't always rely on others to protect me."

He sighed and nodded. "Fine. Go to Sebastian. He'll train you. But be careful, Alora."

I hurried to find Sebastian, my heart pounding. When I finally found him, he was in his office, reviewing some documents. "Sebastian, I need you to train me," I said, entering the room without knocking.

He looked up, surprise flickering across his face. "Alora, I don't think—"

"Please, Sebastian. I need to be able to defend myself. I can't just stand by and do nothing," I interrupted, my voice pleading.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Alright, I'll train you. But I'll go easy on you. I don't want you getting hurt."

We headed to the training grounds, and Sebastian began teaching me the basics. He demonstrated stances, strikes, and defensive maneuvers, but he was too gentle, too careful. He was holding back, and it was infuriating.

"You're not even trying!" I snapped after blocking another one of his half-hearted attacks. "I need to be strong enough to defend myself because we don't know what Aziel or Constance will do when they find out about me and Rome-Lester!"

"Alora, I don't want you to get hurt," he replied, his eyes filled with concern.

"I'm not some fragile flower!" I shouted, my frustration boiling over. "I need to be strong. If you're not going to help me, I'll find someone who will."

"Don't you dare Alora!"

I stormed off, my anger fueling my steps. Going into Rome's room and feeding him. I suddenly had a brilliant idea and smiled to myself.

I sought out Vienna, one of the pack's toughest guards. I found her in the packhouse, sharpening her weapons. "Vienna, I need you to train me," I said.

"Beta Alora." She raised an eyebrow. "You know Elias won't like that."

"And who's going to tell him? I don't care. Please, Vienna. Train me at night, and don't go easy on me," I pleaded.

She studied me for a moment before nodding. "Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you. I'm the best pack guard for a reason."

"Sweet, just what I needed thank you Vienna."

"Beta Alora." She bowed and took her weapons away.

That night when everyone was assumed to be asleep, we snicked out to the training ground and Vienna taught me all she knew. Vienna didn't hold back, attacking with full force. I found myself constantly on the defense, struggling to keep up. When she struck me hard in the stomach, I crashed to the ground, blood dripping from my mouth.

Vienna immediately helped me up, her expression one of concern. "You did well,  Beta Alora. You have potential."

"But I can be better."

"Yes Beta Alora."

"You can call me Alora, you are my trainer."

Vienna bowed. "You need to be careful Alora."

"I will."

"If Alpha finds out about this or your mate, I will never be able to be one of the six chosen from the pack."

"I won't let that happen to you Vienna, you have my words."

As we snuck back into the packhouse, Lorelei caught us. She gasped when she saw my state, her eyes wide with alarm. "Alora, what happened?"

"I was just training." I said weakly.

Lorelei helped me into her room, scolding me. "If Sebastian finds out, it won't be good for Vienna. Sebastian will forgive you easily but he will take all the anger out on Vienna."

"Promise me you won't tell him," I begged.

She sighed but nodded. "Alright, I promise. But be careful."

For the next few weeks, I trained with Vienna at night and with Sebastian in the afternoons. My skills improved rapidly, and I felt my confidence growing. However, Sebastian began to notice my progress and grew suspicious. He started keeping a close eye on me, watching my every move.

One night, as Vienna and I sparred, I finally managed to pin her to the ground. The thrill of victory surged through me.

"You are finally able to pin me Alora."

I helped her up and she dusted herself.

"You have improved rapidly I must say. I enjoy sparring with you than with my guard members. You are more competition than them."

"Thank you Vienna for your help."

Vienna looked at me closely. "You accent, you are from the South side aren't you?"

"Yes as a matter of fact. I can't seem to get rid of the accent."

"It suits you fairly. Beta Sebastian is smitten by you everyday. We all see the way he looks at you and sometimes follow you around like a love sick puppy, being all mushy and gooey that it makes us kinda sick. We have never seen him this happy since he became the Beta."

I laughed. "let's go before anyone finds us here."

Sebastian appeared from the shadows, his eyes blazing with anger. I froze and Vienna trembled in fear, baring her neck in submission.

"What is going on here?" he demanded, his voice a low growl.

"Sebastian, please—" I started, but he silenced me with a look.

Without another word, he scooped me up in his arms, carrying me back to our room. He gently placed me on the bed, his eyes still filled with anger.

"What did I tell you about the night Alora?" He growled in my ear.

"The night is scary and I should not been alone, I was not alone. but-"

"But nothing Alora. You disobeyed me and what happens to disobedient mates?"

I gulped as I stared into his heated eyes.

"They get punished."

Sebastian purred and ripped the jumpsuit off my body.

"I don't want you getting hurt. You're everything to me."

Before I could respond, he leaned down and kissed me, his lips urgent and demanding. The anger and fear melted away, replaced by a raw, intense need.

"Sebastian" I purred as he thrust hard into me. He growled in my ears, picking up the pace.

I was really close, I scratched his back with my nails and screamed his name while he howled before emptying his seed in me.

Afterward, as we lay tangled in the sheets, he held me close. "I love you, Alora. And I will always protect you. But please, don't shut me out again."

"I won't," I whispered, resting my head on his chest. "I promise."
