Helping our six pack guards move into the new quarters was a task that consumed most of the day. Sebastian, Elias, and I worked tirelessly to ensure that everything was in place for their comfort. The Royal estate was vast with different wings and without the map, one could get lost. The whole of Westside belonged to the Royal court. I was yet to see the Royals but it wasn't expected of them to be seen until the inauguration of the new Royal warriors.
"Pheww, that was tiring." Elias sighed and I nodded in agreement. For just six guards we sure packed a lot from the pack and I was representing the pack not only as the beta female but as the pack chef.
I heard Constance voice behind me and I sharply turned to see her and Aziel adjacent us. Sebastian muttered under his breath.
"Oh come on!" Constance groaned. "Not with this witch." Aziel growled at her ushered her into the room.
I myself wasn't happy with them adjacent us. Before I could dwell too much on the discomfort, Rome's nanny emerged from our room, carrying my son in her arms. His cries echoed down the hallway, piercing through my heart. "He's been crying for you and refuses to eat," she explained, a sympathetic smile on her face as she gently rocked him.
"Thank you," I said, taking Rome from her and holding him close. The moment he was in my arms, he quieted, his little face burying into my shoulder as his sobs subsided into soft whimpers. I was glad he stopped crying, if Constance had heard his cries and came out, she would know immediately that Rome was Aziel's son and my son's life would be in grave danger.
It was then that I noticed Aziel had frozen mid-step, his eyes fixed on Rome with an intensity that bordered on shock. He looked as if he were seeing a ghost, or a reflection of his younger self, manifested in the form of this small child. His gaze was transfixed, a mixture of longing and disbelief etched into his features.
Without a word, Aziel approached us, his focus unwavering as he stopped in front of me. "I want to see him properly," he said, his voice a low growl that reverberated through the air.
Sebastian stepped in, his posture protective and firm. "Not now, Aziel. You can see Rome later, when Constance isn't hovering around," he said, his voice steady.
I silently thanked Sebastian for always being as calm as he was, God knows the events that would have happened if Sebastian wasn't the calm one.
I watched Aziel, noting the conflict in his eyes, and took a deep breath to steady myself. "I don't want Constance to find out about Rome," I said quietly. "You can see him at night when you're sure she isn't around."
Aziel looked disturbed but nodded. With a final glance at Rome, he turned and walked away, leaving Sebastian and me to retreat into our room.
Once inside, Sebastian's hand found mine, pulling me into a comforting embrace. "You're brave, Alora," he said, his voice soft with admiration. "You did the right thing. I'll always support you, and Rome will always be my son. You'll always be the mother of my future kids."
"Thank you," I whispered. He kissed my forehead and then Rome's. Rome struggled in my arms, trying to reach out for my breast.
"Oh no big guy, you have outgrown this." I then blushed remembering how Sebastian helped me handle my milk full boobs. He also remembered that and growled in my ear, holding my waist.
"Not in front of Rome Bastian." I giggled as he licked my ears. He groaned and whispered cock blocker before taking Rome out of my hands.
"Where are you taking him to?" I asked knowing fully well his intentions.
"His nanny of course, we Alora, have a long discussion." He winked at me and I giggled.

Later that night, after ensuring that Rome had eaten, I made my way with him to the moon leaf garden. The air was crisp and cool, the moon casting a gentle glow over the lush greenery. I found Aziel waiting, his silhouette outlined by the soft light.
"Where's Constance?" I asked as I approached.
He glanced up, a wry smile playing on his lips. "Asleep."
I held Rome in my arms, bouncing him gently as he cooed and giggled, his little hands reaching for the shimmering leaves. Aziel watched us, his eyes softening as he took in the sight. "Can I hold him?" he asked, his voice tentative, almost unsure.
I hesitated for a moment, then nodded, passing Rome over to him. Aziel cradled his son carefully, a mixture of awe and wonder crossing his face as Rome giggled in his arms, clutching at Aziel's fingers with tiny fists.
"He looks so much like me when I was his age," Aziel said, a touch of pride in his voice. "You must have kept him away from others to avoid suspicion."
He was right about that. Rome looked so much like Aziel, even a fool would know Aziel was the father and I didn't want that to be the topic of the event, talk less about the Council members finding out.
I nodded, a small smile playing on my lips. "He loves the color green, just like you. And he gets grumpy when things don't go his way, just like you."
Aziel's expression turned wistful, his eyes dropping in regret. "Does he call Sebastian dad?"
"Yes," I replied, watching his face closely as a shadow passed over his features. It was a painful truth, but one that had to be acknowledged.
"Sebastian is a good dad, he treats Rome like his very own and loves him to bits."
"I never thought it would turn out like this," Aziel admitted, his voice heavy with regret. "I searched everywhere for you but to no avail. I was miserable and confused—a fool. I truly regret everything."
"Some things are just meant to remain broken," I said softly, meeting his gaze. "I'm mated to Sebastian, and you're mated to Constance. You rejected me, Aziel. I'll never leave Sebastian just because you're my true mate."
His shoulders sagged slightly, the weight of my words settling heavily upon him. "Are you carrying Sebastian's child?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"No," I replied, shaking my head.
"Are you truly happy?" he asked, a note of desperation in his voice.
"Yes," I said firmly, feeling the truth of it resonate within me.
"Did you ever love me Alora?"
Tears streaked down my cheeks. "I did Az, I loved you, I adored you but you ruined us, ruined me."
"I'm sorry Alora, I truly am sorry." Aziel tried to hold me but I stepped away.
"Then let me go, Aziel. I'm ready to accept your rejection," I continued, my voice steady with resolve.
Aziel paused, his eyes searching mine. "Hold on," he said, his tone cautious. "It's not yet time for that. Many things are still left uncovered. When everything is settled, you can accept my rejection."
I agreed, knowing he was just trying to stall and I could have accepted the rejection here and here but I wanted to give him that.
We walked back to the estate in silence, the weight of our conversation hanging between us. As we reached the hallway leading to our rooms, Aziel turned to me, gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you for letting me see my son."
I nodded, a silent acknowledgment passing between us before we parted ways.
As I entered my room, Sebastian looked up from where he sat, his eyes warm and understanding.
"How did it go?" he asked, pulling me into his arms.
"It went well," I replied, feeling the last of the tension fade away as I leaned into him.
We settled onto the bed, and as Sebastian held me close, I felt a profound sense of peace. The past might still linger, but with Sebastian by my side, I was ready to face whatever the future held.
