The video above is just vibes. I was listening to it on repeat while I wrote this chapter (especially the second half!)

Bakugou P.O.V

No one was around to witness her flee into the forest. No one.

Except for Todoroki and me.

Half-and-Half stood there, shocked, as he tried to process Orchid's spiteful comments. Her insults towards me were creative, but the way she executed them wasn't as cruel or cold as the ones she threw against him. The ones directed to Half-and-Half were created just for him, and I'm willing to bet she created them years ago, then shoved them into the back of her mind. For someone so kind and cheery, the insults Orchid could muster up are unimaginable.

"Oi, Icy-Hot," I grunted, crossing my arms as soon as the surprise wore off. I guessed no one had ever heard Orchid insult anyone, judging by how baffled he was. Todoroki didn't even acknowledge my existence, still staring off into the bushes.

"Half-and-Half," I spoke louder, nudging him with my leg. I'd forgotten about the pain coursing through my body but was humbly reminded by the small gesture. I hissed softly, thankful he couldn't hear me. I then sighed, rolling my eyes.

"Todoroki," I grumbled softly, my voice barely audible. That got him out of it. He turned around and faced me with surprise.

"Did you just use my actual name?" He asked stupidly. Half-and-Half wasn't the only one with two quirks. Orchid could manipulate water and shock someone so badly that they became stupid.

"Your sister just ran off into the woods to God knows where and you're more concerned about me using your name?" I questioned, irritation coursing through me. "If you haven't noticed, losing someone's going to have some consequences," Half-and-Half stiffened as if the realization that his sister ran away just occurred to him. "Now, are you going to help me find her or not?"

"Obviously," Half-and-Half frowned, looking towards the direction she ran off. The forest seemed to have swallowed her up, with no crumb left behind, Except for one orchid-coloured strand of hair gleaming in the sunlight.

"I think I might know where she ran off to..." Half-and-Half trailed off, lost in his thoughts once more. He seemed distanced from the world; unplugged. He then snapped back to reality, locking onto my gaze. "Bakugou, can you start hunting for Y/n from here?" He then turned around, heading for the path he came from. Abruptly stopping, he turned around and gave me a desperate glance. "And promise me you won't tell anyone about this," He pleaded softly, his gaze torn between shock, confusion, and sadness.

"I promise," I muttered, knowing that was the only way to get him to shut up. He nodded, then turned off and headed in the other direction. Soft chatter started to fill the air, followed by the crunch of shoes on old leaves. I can only assume Shitty Hair, Soy Sauce, Pinky, and Pikachu are walking back. I knew they would ask why Orchid wasn't with me, and I couldn't tell them she snapped at Half-and-Half, then ran off into the woods in embarrassment.

I quickly grabbed my phone from the grass, grabbing Orchid's as an afterthought. Just in case. I then made my way into the woods, following the stepped-on branches and dents in the foliage.

Each step I took was painful, all of the cuts and bruises on my body screaming in agony as I continued to push through the dense leaves and brushes. Just as I was about to quit and take a break, I stumbled out of the labyrinth-like forest and almost face-first into a lake.

The lake was a beautiful shade of navy blue, almost like the late-night sky. The forest stopped a couple of meters from the water, grass growing up to the water instead of soft sand. The mountains in the background seemed to glitter, the afternoon sunshine bouncing off of them. But the breathtaking view was the furthest thing from my mind.
