𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐄𝐖 uniform on, Areum felt a little bit nervous about the upcoming hours. But who wouldn't be to be fair. You're the new kid so close to the end of not just the year but also the whole four years of schooling.

She smiled at herself in the mirror and she pushed away the feeling and got her bag ready to head out. The school was a comfortable eight minute walk from her house and she entertained herself once again with her headphones.

As she stepped into the campus she could tell people were talking about her and she hated it. She would much rather love to be invisible, but what's here is the reality. She ignored the looks and gossip around her as she stepped into the school.

She asked around for directions to the teachers office and a younger girl helped her out. She thanked the girl before stepping inside, there were immediately looks on her "I'm the new student. I'm here to find out which class I'm in." she said.

A man stood up and walked to her "Which one are you? The American transfer or?" he asked and Areum nodded "The American transfer." he then pointed to another man "Han Joonwoo she's one of your new students."

The mentioned stood up and greeted me "Hello Areum I presume?" she nodded "Yes, Jeong Areum." the man nodded and went through her grades and papers from the previous three years. "I see you've been a good student abroad." she nodded not knowing what to add.

Then the door opened again and a guy and girl entered. It turned out that Areum was not the only one enrolling this late. She greeted the girl who came to stand next to her and she waved back with a small smile. The girl then bickered with what seemed to be her brother and Areum held her laugh in.

Our new teacher gave Areum and the girl who was now named Jugyeong their student passes. And then a voice broke behind them "I heard a top student transferred to our school!" an older man rang out and then checked Jugyeongs grades. Areum didn't care as she knew her grades were excellent.

"This is not it. Oh my! You must be the top student!" he then turned to Jugyeong's brother or friend. Areum could not distinguish, but then there was another interruption in the form of Suho, and Areum foolishly called out when she was him. "Suho?"

He seemed to huff as he noticed her "Please ask the class president next time." he said and ignored Areum for the hundredth time. Honestly she was getting sick of being treated like garbage. Jugyeong stared at him and Areum scoffed internally.

"Suho, these are our two new transfer students." the teacher pointed to the two of us "Could you take them to the classroom?" Suho seemed agitated as he stormed out of the office "Gosh this punk." Areum said under her breath as she stepped outside of the office.

She and Jugyeong step out trying to follow him but Areum quickly gives up and just asks around for her classroom. "You're a new transfer?" a shorter girl with a bob asked and Areum nodded "Yeah, I'm Jeong Areum." the girl beamed with happiness.

"Let me introduce you to Soojin. And please give me your Instagram and number." she pulled Areum into a classroom filled with people "Also I'm Choi Sooah." God was this girl full with energy. Areum wasn't really an extrovert or full with energy so she was taken aback from this girls attitude.

She smiled as she lead her to another girl "And this is-" Areum cut her off "Kang Soojin?" both girls seemed surprised but something clicked in Soojin's head "Jeong Areum? What are you doing here?" she asked and Areum showed her student ID.

"I'm now a student here. I just came back from America." Sooah's eyes lit up at the mention of America, but thankfully their teacher came in a clutch and called Areum in front of his desk. "These are the new transfer students in our class, Lim Jugyeong and Jeong Areum."

He then pointed to the two of us "Can you please introduce yourselves?" the girl beside Areum seemed awkward so she talked first "Hi I'm a transfer from America." then Jugyeong spoke up "Hi. Nice to meet you."

A few students called both of them pretty but Areum could not care less. Beauty was just a superficial thing to her, and besides what good does outside beauty do you if you're ugly on the inside. She liked to think that other things were more important to her, like her family's heath.

"There is one seat next to Suho, you Jugyeong can sit there and you Areum-" the teacher was cut off by Jugyeong "Actually I have bad eyesight." In the end Areum ended up sitting next to Suho while the other girl sat at an absent students seat.

As she sat down next to her former friend, he refused to even look at her and she scoffed "Guess I'm fated to be connected with you Suho." the boy did not answer and Areum then turned to her book as the teacher began the lesson.

The end of school came much quicker then she expected it and despite her plan of walking back home listening to music, Sooah was now begging her to hang out with them. "Please Areum-ah! This could make us closer friends." Areum only looked at Soojin, who she knew could read her.

And she was correct as Soojin spoke up "Sooah, let her go if she has obligations. She'll come with us next time." she looked back at Areum and the said girl nodded. "Okay but let's at least make a group chat for the three of us. That way we can communicate."

Areum nodded, but she noticed how Jugyeong seemed too excited. She didn't question it but gave the girls her number and Instagram. Then turned to the other transfer student "You didn't give me your Instagram." she said and gave Jugyeong her phone.

Jugyeong seemed embarrassed "I actually don't have an account. But I'll send it to you once I make one." Areum nodded and bid the girls goodbye "See you tomorrow!." Sooah stuck her tongue out as she held both Soojin and Jugyeon "You'll regret not coming with us." Somehow Areum knew she would not.
