𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘, the last school of day of the week, and Areum had once again both skipped and not used her phone due to fear of getting more threats from people she didn't know. Her mother called the school, lying about Areum being sick, so she wouldn't be labelled as absent or tardy by the teachers. "Rumi-ah! Lunch's done!" her mother called from the kitched. "Coming!"
The teenager came in and set the table for the two of then to eat "Well eat up Areum." and the two dug in "When are you getting your grades report? I know you had that important exam last week." she then smiled "Not that I'm pressuring you or anything, your grades are your own." That's when Areum remembered that what she was asking about was today. "Shit." she mumbled to herself.
Her mother flicked her forehead "I heard that missy." Areum apologized "Sorry I just forgot that the report was handed out today, I'll pick it up on Monday for sure." her mother nodded with a slight smile "No pressure, I'm sure your grades are good, afterall you're a smart girl. "The girl nodded and dug into her food "So have you heard from anyone from school?" her mother asked and the girl shrugged
"I turned my phone off." she said, not mentioning the death threats and other "Just wanted a few days to disconnect, I guess." her mother sighed "You do know that you're going to have to face everyone at school on Monday. I can't keep covering for you forever." Areun pretended to be hurt "Not even my mom supports me." both of them giggled at the girls' acting.
"You do know you're going to have to face them soon." her mother stated as she started picking up their plates from the table "I understand that you didn't want people to know, but it couldn't be a secret forever sweet." Areum sighed "I know mom, but if I wanted to let them know, I would've. It wouldn't have come through the mouths of Jugyeong and Sooah." her voice sounded bitter.
Her mother shook her head at the girl "I'm going to end this conversation and topic here Areum." she pointed to the girl "And I better not see you being all down today." she then clapped her hands in excitement "Now it's time for my series soon! You clean up the few things left in the sink." and with that her mother was off to the living room.
