The moon shone over the city of Mondstadt. A quiet sleepiness draped the houses as the stars painted pictures in the sky. The windmills turned gently and with them the citizens turned in their beds, quietly shifting in their deep slumbers. The wild foxes nestled close to one another and the herons dipped their long necks. There was scarcely a ripple through cider lake as the city of wind lulled itself to sleep.

An astrologist drew her telescope and examined the vast constellations above her on Starsnatch cliff, her eyes widened in surprise. The black of the abyss simply stared back. She glanced over to her books, examining the meaning behind the constellation. Her surprise only grew and she felt fear stirring in the depths of her soul. She continued scouring the stars and her fear was slowly replaced with relief.

It would be solved, it would all be solved and until then, there was nothing she could do to help the people of Mondstadt except lie, nothing to do but lie.

Kaeya grinned, wolfishly, to himself as he spread out a huge sheet of paper. He sat in his office shirtless with a glass of blood red wine and an enormous piece of paper with various pictures and writings laid out in front of him. He traced his pen over the words on the page, his smile widening. As the rest of the city slept, he paced, eyes growing wilder by the minute.

This was too easy.

He traced the looping red lines, they connected to multiple images but all those images, no matter how different they were in theory, led back to one picture.

So so easy.

He traced the lines to the images and counted them off one by one.

Light Novels

Poetry

Calla Lilies

Newspaper Clippings

Liyue's Tianquan

A vase

He gently traced the lines back to where they all connected. His eyes met with the smiling white haired man and he smiled back.

'Don't worry, I'll save you' He murmured

He glanced out the window, the pale moonlight illuminating his face. He basked in its hidden rays for a moment before turning and shrugging on his shirt, he lazily did up a couple buttons on it before turning and striding out his office.

The Knights of Favonius headquarters were quiet apart from the few guards that patrolled. They barely batted an eye when they saw Kaeya stroll out his office and instead saluted him knowingly. He liked the fact that they were so used to his antics that they had stopped questioning him, it gave him a shit ton of wiggle room.

He simply nodded back and walked out the building. The cool night air sliced through him and he took a sharp intake of breath. He smirked to himself as he caught sight of the Cat's Tail. He had to admit that turning it into a partial Inn was a stroke of genius, perhaps one of these days Margaret would finally surpass The Angel's Share in profits? Not that Diluc would care, a shame, he really did enjoy seeing him annoyed.

Kaeya stood outside the Tavern, watching a cat groom itself. Even the tavern seemed unusually quiet, matching the rest of the city in its sleepy silence. He walked up to the door, paused, and undid another button of his shirt.

Margaret watched her patrons happily. The bell tinkled, indicating a customer had come in and she reluctantly turned away. Her eyes widened and heat rose on her face.

Kaeya slid onto a stool and leaned on the desk, inches away from her.

'How's business Marge?'

Margaret choked
