Their wishes like morning dew
you may try and save me
but i won't save you
listen to my melody let it speak
listen to the spring water
flow in the creek
wind and water, fire and ice
my love won't save you
you'll pay the price
i feared the fury of my wind
holder of all those sinned
would blight all blossoms fair and true
the prettiest, being you.
While I'm no mind reader I do think I predicted your plan well, it's one thing to know about your past but I know your future, something even you are unsure of.
Don't worry Kazuha, it'll end soon. I don't have to tell you that though...
You already know.
If the first letter had caused a reaction it hardly compared to the second. Kazuha's breathing came out ragged as he stared at the beautiful looping handwriting. It wasn't just Diluc...
The writing didn't match the first letter. This poem was more short and to the point. While the first letter radiated energy of someone who dabbled in poetry and lyricism occasionally this was clearly made by someone who had more experience, more time to observe and learn.
Kazuha could tell they were good at observing. They knew everything, every thought he had about his future in Mondstadt. Every rocky belief was predicted on paper in a way that would only make sense to him.
He knew one letter writer was Diluc, it had to be. He never thought the man would be able to write such good poems, all imagery and imagination appeared lost on him but perhaps appearances can deceive?
His hand shook as he skimmed the lines over and over, looking for clues, anything that would give him a slight indication of who was behind this.
His thoughts grew more frantic as he ran through potential perpetrators.
The Acting Grandmaster? The Librarian? The prying outrider?
Hell even that white haired clumsy kid could be the letter writer.
He thought back to his interaction with Bennet and grimaced.
Or not...
----
Kazuha had debated on many occasions wether he should bring up the letters to Kaeya but something always held him back. No matter how angelic Kaeya seemed to be, no matter how well his hair framed his face and his eyes shone. Kazuha could not bring himself to mention the letters. Perhaps he didn't want to risk ruining the little time they had left together.
He felt a strange ache in his heart whenever he thought about it. He had never felt this emotion before, perhaps it was a strange sort of regret? All he knew was that whenever he thought about it he felt a twinge in his heart.
The thought that he would have to kill Kaeya.
----
Kaeya knew too much, that was evident. Kazuha had forgotten himself, he had gotten carried away and told Kaeya everything. He was unsure what possessed him to do it but he did it. He showed him how he got away with one of the biggest murders in Teyvat, drugged Kaeya's brother and confessed to all those other killings.
