Kazuha couldn't stop the gasp of air escaping his lips and he continued to stare, eyes wide at Kaeya. The other man grinned back, 'His names Diluc perhaps you've met him? he's hard to forget'. Kazuha slowly shook his head eyes still wide. Kaeya's expression remained genial 'No matter, I'm glad he hasn't tainted this one good thing in my life' Kazuha looked up, red creeping onto his face.

A good thing

He was talking about Kazuha right? what else could he mean? He couldn't ignore the exhilarated feeling in his heart at the thought. He swallowed and smiled tentatively at Kaeya who was watching him with a concentrated expression, there was something else behind his eyes, something that caused Kazuha's surroundings to melt into one until he was the only thing he could see.

'You want to kill him...?'

His voice came out higher pitched than he intended it to but Kaeya showed no signs of noticing.

'Once I didn't have anything worth fighting for, I was content to let him ruin what was left of me so long as I could drink myself to oblivion in the local taverns afterwards' he paused and gently took Kazuha's hand, slowly rubbing circles on his palm 'but now things have changed...I don't know what exactly and I don't know what the future holds but I know one thing Kazuha, you're too good to let go'

His smile softened as he gazed at him, he lifted a hand and gently brushed a strand of hair out of Kazuha's face. He leant into the touch and stared back into Kaeya's eyes, his mind whirring with endless possibilities.

'What makes you think I can help you?'

Kaeya chuckled 'Kazuha I'm a captain for a reason, furthermore though I want nothing to do with my scum brother I do keep tabs on him, he's got some very interesting research on you'

Kazuha stilled, he had his suspicions that the letter he had received had been the work of the red head. He had pretended not to know of him to confirm his suspicions and here it was, crystal clear. He felt a searing anger spread through him but also a sense of...relief. Finally someone who knew, someone he wouldn't need to hide from. His earlier nervousness was replaced with a cold smile.

'Very well, what do you want me to do?'

Kaeya gave him a lazy smirk as if he had asked a ridiculous question

'Well what you do best of course'

'Hmm which is?'

'Kill'

Sara shook her head apologetically.

'I haven't seen anyone like that I'm sorry, perhaps there is a traveller who is similar but things have been so hectic I've scarcely paid attention to the time of day' Diluc nodded, his expression set as he turned away from Good Hunter. He grimaced at the stares he was getting from passerby's. It was rare to see him in the city for so long and rumours must be flitting around  already. He turned, hoping that Marjorie would have some information when a squeal ripped him from his musings.

'DILUUUUUUC!' Donna sprinted towards him, skirt hoisted up, beaming.

He mentally rolled her eyes as she screeched to a stop and gazed up at him adoringly.

'Ahh Diluc I haven't seen you in the city for so long! How wonderful I've received a surprise visit form you, I've just made some of my special moon pie would you like to try some? you know all the city folk line up for it! I dare say it's famous!' she cooed, batting her eyelashes at him.
