Diluc stirred slowly, his eyes going in and out of focus. He couldn't move. He shook his head trying to gather his wits.

It was just beginning to be light, perhaps 3 or 4 am? He was tied up, that's why he couldn't move. The anemo archon statue shone before him, the archon faced away from him, as if it was turning its back. Finally he spotted Kazuha. The man turned, almost as if he could feel Diluc's eyes burning through him. "Windrise has to be my favourite place yet, it's so beautiful isn't it?" The calmness almost surprised him, this white haired man was something else.

Kazuha appeared to be setting up a cooking pot of some sorts. 'They won't find you' he muttered, almost to himself before turning and smiling at Diluc 'have you ever wondered what would happen if you disappeared without a trace?'  he cocked his head, waiting, but when it became clear Diluc wouldn't provide an answer he simply shrugged 'you'll find out'.

A bush rustled nearby and Kazuha's head shot up. He whipped round to Diluc and grinned manically 'oh..you're so lucky'. He grabbed something from his pocket and threw it down. The air filled with a flurry of elemental energy and the deranged man was no longer there.

A sword flew through the air straight towards Diluc's head. Perhaps he was forgiven after all...

He allowed himself a small smile as he watched the sword slice through the air towards him. There was a flash of light as the sword stopped inches from his face. Diluc looked up as Kaeya lowered the sword to his side. "You've gotten stronger," Diluc remarked, he saw the obvious expression on Kaeya's face 'You've gotten weaker' however his brother never did utter the words his face so clearly screamed.

Instead Kaeya shrugged back "They say chivalry is dead" he deftly sliced through the thick ropes binding Diluc to the huge tree before turning and walking away. Diluc staggered to his feet, still slightly dazed as he called out to his brother "Kaeya" the words were on the tip of his tongue, he just had to find the courage to say them. Kaeya turned, wearing an expression Diluc had never seen before

 "Don't

"what..?" Diluc's confusion was apparent 'Don't'

Diluc watched. His formal, no nonsense self fading as his 'brother' continued walking, back turned.

"Kaeya please I-"

"I saw that advert, chicken mushroom skewers" Kaeya said conversationally "you have some nerve, I admire that about you Diluc but we both know my thoughts aren't worth anything to you' He smiled pleasantly 'Let's not say things we don't mean, for what it's worth I've always admired your honesty too'

Diluc stared as his brother continued to walk away. This sudden coldness, masked with charm was nothing like how Kaeya used to speak to him. The blue haired man turned once more, his eyes burning through Diluc

"You're wondering what happened aren't you? You thought you could post a couple adverts for skewers and I would come running back, I spoke to Jean, she helped me, she helped me after you tried to kill me"

Kaeyas maintained his conversational tone but there was an edge to it, he turned away from Diluc and watched the sunrise over the distant windmills, as if he were in thought. Diluc stood rigid, unspeaking. The moment was almost serene, the birds had started to wake and crystal flies drifted through the grass as the rising sun illuminated the dandelions that slowly swayed in the breeze.

A crystal fly landed on Kaeya's shoulder and he smiled, he offered his hand and the creature drifted towards it languidly. Kaeya held his hand out, admiring the crystal fly with a gentle expression, this looked more like the old Kaeya. Diluc watched in a daze as the crystal fly made itself comfortable in his brother's palm. He watched as dandelion seeds circled Kaeya. He watched Kaeya's expression harden and he felt a searing pain shoot up his spine as he watched Kaeya blast the creature with cryo. The crystal fly dropped to the floor, heavy and frozen. For a simple creature it seemed to be startled but not injured, it would soon melt and regain its flight as the sun came up. Diluc continued to stare as Kaeya walked away, this time he didn't look back.
