"SO now that we are finished reading King Lear, it is now time to begin our fun unit. This is my favorite assignment of the entire semester and you all are going to begin today," Mrs.White spoke in front of the class of uninterested Senior students.
"So for this assignment you will be required to write a short book that summarizes the entirety of King Lear, you cannot have more than 20 pages in your book but you have to have a minimum of 13. You can either do this alone or work with a partner, but you have until the end of the school year. This will be the main part of your guys final also," she explained gaining the students attention.
"So what's the other part of the final?" Jackson, one of the kids in the class asked.
"You're gonna have to write a letter to the upcoming Seniors about what they can expect coming into AP Literature," she responded making each student nod.
"Now as of today you guys can brainstorm and figure out your groups, you will only have this week and Monday and Tuesday of next week to work on this in class," she told them causing a few kids to groan.
"Why can't we have more time to work in class if we got until the end of the year?" A girl named Callie asked with a frown on her face.
"Because you have until the end of the year, that leaves you plenty of time to finish this on your own. So I'd suggest that if you plan on working with someone, exchange numbers so that you all can find time to work on it together." She told her students standing from the stool chair before walking over to her desk.
"Alright you guys can get started," she dismissed before sitting down at her desk. Chatter began to spread across the room and Milani pulled out her MacBook.
She really wished she had a friend in this class but unfortunately she did not. She really didn't want to do this entire assignment by herself.
She logged into her computer and immediately headed into google classroom where the assignment was already posted.
She grabbed her phone that was placed face down on her desk and unpaused her music that was paused due to her teacher garnering her attention. There was only 10 minutes left in class since they spent the first half of class debriefing about King Lear. They had finished reading the book in class yesterday.
Putting the phone back down on her desk she focused on the computer in front of her. Thinkin Bout You by Frank Ocean played in her Airpods.
Opening the template that her teacher had posted she immediately began to type. She was so engrossed in her work that she hadn't realized the bell had rung and that it was time to go until she took notice of her classmates gathering their things and standing from their seat. Quickly closing her laptop she stuffed it inside her Black and Gold Nike Elite bag and stood from her seat.
She grabbed her phone and headed to the door, walking into the crowded halls she made her way to the area where her and her friends met up at during every passing period.
She spotted her friends who were already standing in the corner where they would meet up at and quickly walked up to them.
"Is that Jujuuuuuu?" She dragged with a large smile as she walked up to the large group of friends.
