LANI sat in her mother's bathroom getting her makeup done for the upcoming evening. Today was officially prom night. They had been preparing all day for the evening
She had got her hair done earlier that morning and was now onto her makeup. The dance started at 7 and her walkout was at 5pm at the Airbnb that she, Ziya and Londyn had gotten for the weekend. The time was now 4:10.
"You look so beautiful," Gina smiled at her daughter in pure admiration.
"Thank you mommyyyy," she smiled in return as Zariya walked into the bathroom with the dress in her hand.
"Okay you need to go head and start getting dressed so we can head out of here," Gina told her daughter cleaning up her vanity area. Lani stood from her seat with a large stretch.
"Okie dokes," Lani smiled grabbing the dress that her sister had hung up on the door, her mom walked out of the bathroom and closed the door behind her leaving room for Lani to get dressed.
Lani removed the black lululemon set that she had been wearing, she then pulled on the red dress. Once she finished she finally took the time to look in the mirror.
A small smile graced her face as she looked back at herself, she really couldn't believe it was her Prom night. She had been anticipating this night since her freshman year and now that it was finally here it was so bittersweet.
She turned away from the mirror and headed back to the vanity to take a seat so she could put her shoes on. She wasn't about to put her heels on now so she slipped on a pair of bedazzled Crocs that she had gotten for when her feet get tired later tonight.
She headed out her mom's bathroom and out of their room so she could head to the living room where she heard her family's voices.
"Oh my gosh," Gina gasped as her daughter entered the living room, tears immediately welled up in her eyes.
"STEPPING ON NECKSSS BABYYYYY," Zariya hyped snapping her fingers repeatedly making Lani laughed at them.
"You look gorgeous baby girl," her father told her with a proud smile on his face.
"Thank y'all," Milani smiled bashfully.
"You are beyond beautiful princess," Gina coo'd walking up to her daughter before engulfing her in a motherly hug.
"Mommy we need to get her out of here," Zariya told her mother shaking her head.
"Okay i'm sorry, I just, wow, I love you," she finally found the words making Milani smile.
"I love you more mom," Milani told her squeezing her mother's hand gently. About 15 minutes later the family was making their way to the Airbnb.
Londyn and Ziya and their families were already there taking pictures and were now waiting for Milani.
Once they pulled up a smile came to Milani's face at the turnout, she was so glad their vision had came to life. In the driveway sat 3 black and gold royal chairs for the girls, with a full body poster of each of them behind the chair. There was a Red carpet that led to each chair along with gold and black balloons and a large cutout with words that read PROM24.
