Although Sumire preferred to leave, Boruto insisted she stay for tea. Apparently, he wanted to catch up with her while also updating her on anything she had missed while she was gone.

There was not much she missed while she was away, other than the fact that they were now adults and starting relationships.

That's right, Sumire wasn't even in a relationship. And, speaking of which, were Boruto and Sarada any closer to joining one?

"Earth to Sumire..." Are you alright?" Her eyes widened as she realized she had drifted off while he was speaking.

Startled, she quickly apologized and rubbed it off. "Yeah, sorry... Just a little preoccupied with studies and exams."

Boruto sat across from her and smiled slightly.

Sumire clutched her tea, nervous. Looking back up to meet his gaze, she quickly revealed what she was really thinking about.

"How are things going for you and Sarada?" She asked. Boruto's cheeks turned bright red, and he looked away, stammering.

"M-Me and S-Sarada!? W-Well... you s-see!" He stuttered out while rubbing the back of his neck.

Instead, he let out a deep sigh. "Well, I could not make much progress with her this time around. I hoped you could help me get closer to her now that you are here."

Putting her tea back down on the table, she looked down at her knees as her fists clenched heavily. Boruto did not notice because he was too preoccupied with other ways to get Sarada, but to have received that request from someone she once loved/may still love?

It hurt.

But, being the person she was, she could not refuse his offer and agreed to assist him. "Yeah, don't worry. I will help you get closer to her..." Sumire spoke calmly.

Boruto looked at her with excitement. Sumire's anger and sadness were hidden behind a gentle smile.

"What about we start tomorrow at the beach?" He stated quickly. Sumire looked at him, astounded by the sudden date.

He looked away, blushing fiercely. "I realize it's unexpected, but it's also perfect! It will be hot tomorrow, and it will just be you, me, and Sarada! We can have our moments at any time," he said.

Sumire simply sighed but agreed nonetheless.

He then had another idea. "I don't want you to be the third wheel, so I will invite Kawaki or Himawari to join us. Although, I don't think Hima can come because she has other plans... and well, as for Kawaki-" He quickly got cut off by Sumire when she put her hand up. He looked at her, puzzled.

"No need. But if you insist, I would not mind spending time with someone else," Sumire said bluntly.

Boruto looked at her with alarm but brushed it off. "Right, it's settled then!" he exclaimed.

They both stood up, and Sumire promptly bowed. "Thank you for having me," she exclaimed, smiling.

Boruto quickly paused as he led her out the door and said his final words before leaving. "Oh, right! Since you arrived, Dad has been bugging me to reassign you as Kawaki's personal nurse again. Again, this is optional, so you don't have to-"

"Don't worry; I will gladly be his nurse again," Sumire said with a soft smile. Boruto smiled and looked at her with amusement.

But then he became irritated as he thought about his father, Naruto Uzumaki. "Man, that old geezer! Asking you of such a request, especially during your break!"

Sumire let out a chuckle. "So, I will see you tomorrow, okay? Get home safely!" Boruto exclaimed as Sumire bowed again.

She stood still after the door closed. Rising, her gaze returned to the door. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she wiped them quickly.

"Stop it, Sumire! He doesn't love you, and that's that..." She thought to herself as she turned around to face the gate.

All she saw was the blurriness of her tears. Wiping them again, she started walking away from his property.

Walking down the street, she could not help but shake the feelings and thoughts that were racing through her mind. Why did she do it? Why was she so quick to accept his proposal and actually cooperate with him?

She didn't know. But all she knows is that it must go as planned for tomorrow!
