The bedroom door slammed open, and in walked Kawaki, clutching a black bag. Sumire looked at him unfazed.

"The freak at the front was taking forever. He's lucky I didn't curse him out," Kawaki said as he threw the bag at Sumire carelessly.

Sumire looked at it and then back at him, puzzled. "Seems he's back to his rude self again..." Sumire thought as she examined the bag.

Inside, there were some pills and some snacks, such as candy and chips.

"Thank you. I really hope I can find a way to repay you for your help with the guy-" Kawaki abruptly cut her off.

"Tch, you shouldn't be thanking me? Isn't that what boyfriends are for?" He responded coldly, looking at her with lazy eyes.

She blushed and averted her gaze, coughing briefly. "Fake boyfriend, may I remind you..." she corrected.

Kawaki chuckled. "Fake or not, I still have the title of your boyfriend."

She rolled her eyes and grabbed the pills from the bag. She opened it, grabbed her water bottle from her bag, and swallowed the pill along with the water.

Wiping her mouth, she tried to avoid making eye contact with Kawaki.

The silence between them became stronger and more awkward. Both avoided eye contact so that it would not become any more awkward for them.

Finally, Kawaki resolved to break it. "So, um... you seem better now."

Sumire hummed in reply. "How did you find me?" Sumire asked looking at the ground.

"I was actually searching for you. Asking around, I heard faint screams coming from the alleyway. That's where I found you." He responded by grabbing a box of cigarettes from his pockets.

She looked at them, slightly surprised. All Sumire could say was, "I see..."

With all her might, Sumire tried not to cry in front of him. She quickly diverted the conversation to avoid letting it get to her too much.

"You shouldn't be smoking-" She was abruptly cut off by one of Kawaki's glares and immediately remained silent afterward.

He looked away from her, slightly annoyed that she had brought it up. "Many people tell me that. You are not the first, and I doubt you will be the last..." He replied coldly.

He blew smoke out of his mouth and looked at one of the posters on his wall to distract himself.

She sighed and nodded in response. "Right...Well, this is obviously becoming awkward, so I should leave. Thank you for assisting me today and, well, hanging out. I had so much more planned, but now that all of those plans are meaningless, I guess we will have to find another way to make this appear more realistic..." Sumire said as she grabbed her belongings and stood up.

Kawaki simply chuckled as she did this. "I understand where you are going with this now. Listen, I did not sign up for any dates or anything like that. You should be grateful I even agreed to this." He replied with an annoyed tone.

Sumire nodded and exited his room, upset.

Watching as she did so, he started hearing her stomp down the stairs. He fidgeted with his cigarette and burned it out. "Fuck..." he murmured to himself as he followed her.

"Where are you going now? I told you that you could spend the night here!" He shouted as he dashed down the stairs.

Sumire came to a halt in the front yard and inhaled deeply. "I know, but..." she said as she looked at the house.

Kawaki stared at her dumbfounded by her earlier reaction. Was she angry at him?

"How about we go to that club some other time, okay?" Sumire randomly brought up, putting on a fake smile.

He stared at her with more confusion than ever. "Okay, what the fuck? What's with you all of a sudden?" he questioned, attempting to understand her.

"Listen, it's nothing to be concerned about. I guess it's just Boruto's aura lingering in your house that's making me act strangely!" She responded.

He narrowed his eyes, not believing her reasoning.

Looking at her phone, she saw a text message from Boruto from two hours ago. "Oh, I have to get going. Sorry, I will text you later!" She yelled as she left.

Kawaki stood in his front yard, processing everything that had just happened.

Shaking his head, he turned around to return, still unsure of what was going on.

Finally, he sighed and closed the door. "Girls..." he whispered to himself as he walked back to his room.

When he entered his room, he could not help but stand awkwardly.

His room smelled different from before.

When he inhaled the scent, all he could think about was the lavender smell that lingered.
