she decided that the best thing to do would be to put it off for a while. lina knew the idea appealed to her though. it had felt like eternity where she hadn't had her own life - her own personality. she had lived in her brother's shadow.

somehow it made her angry. her brother wanted to use her for a pr stunt. really? so he wanted to sacrifice all the time and effort spent IGNORING her existence, so his name would pop up on social media a bit more? secretly, she knew it wouldn't have been his idea. but would it have been his best friend's idea?

surely not. logan wasn't like that to her - but neither was her brother, or so she thought. she came to the conclusion that she was being a little over dramatic. but as sensitive as she was, it was overwhelming to think about nonetheless, for anyone.

"lina?"

she ignored him, calling from the other side of the door that she leant pressed against.

"LINA?" oscar's voice grew louder, and irritatingly, more impatient. selfishly.

"what?" she hissed back.

"have you thought about it yet?"

had she thought about it yet? what sort of a question even was that..? she almost thought it was a joke, what did he think she was thinking about.. anyway. she didn't want to face the inevitable decision that needed to be made. especially with her impatient older brother, who had no care for her feelings it seemed.

"fine." lina shouted, after a silent few moments. she almost was convinced he had walked away by this point. "i'll do it."

with that, she opened the door and was met with his bright face, beaming at her. why he was so happy, she would never understand. but oh well, she knew it was going to be a crazy summer.

"knew you would." he smirked. as if he knew something she didn't, but she shrugged it off, "you're coming to silverstone this weekend, so you can see him there and talk... about... it." he trailed off.

honestly her brother was being so weirdly unpredictable about the whole thing. one minute he looks like he's about to bounce off the walls with excitement and the next he looks like a switch has been flicked and now he realises something.

lina ignored oscar's sudden expression dropping, and spun around to close the door in his face again, his eyes still staring blankly at her. suddenly, he blinked, shook his head, and walked away.

he realised something that would have been beneficial for lani to understand from the start. but of course, he kept it to himself, ready for the future to unfold in front of him.

she was unbelievably excited. never mind the whole logan thing, she was going to SILVERSTONE???!! she had literally dreamed of this moment for years on end, angrily watching her brother live out her biggest dreams on the tv screen, wishing and hoping for a chance. and here it was. silverstone 2024 is lina's year.
