It had been a few weeks since the incident with Professor McGonagall. One evening, while wandering the quieter corridors of Hogwarts, Y/n stumbled upon an odd tapestry. It depicted a group of wizards performing some sort of ritual. She had never noticed it before. Behind it, a faint outline of a door caught her eye. Intrigued, she pulled the tapestry aside and pushed against the wall. To her surprise, it creaked open, revealing a hidden room cloaked in shadows."Mattheo!" she called out, deciding he was the one person she trusted to help her explore this mysterious find.
Minutes later, Mattheo arrived, slightly out of breath.
"What's so urgent, Malfoy? Found another rat to turn back into a student?"
"No, it's something better. Look at this," she said, gesturing towards the hidden door.
Mattheo's eyes widened in surprise and curiosity. "Well, well, what have we here? An adventure, perhaps?" His smirk was back, but there was a glint of genuine interest in his eyes.
Together, they stepped into the room. It was filled with old books, artifacts, and parchments scattered across dusty shelves. In the center stood an ornate table with a large, ancient-looking book resting on it.
"Whoa," Mattheo breathed, running a hand through his hair. "This place is like a treasure trove."
Y/n picked up the book and blew off the dust. The cover was inscribed with a title in an old, forgotten language.
"I wonder what's in here."
"Only one way to find out," Mattheo said, leaning in close as she opened the book. His proximity made her heart race slightly, but she focused on the task at hand.
As they flipped through the pages, they realized the book contained detailed accounts of Hogwarts' history, dating back to its founding. There were stories of secret passages, hidden rooms, and powerful artifacts believed to be lost.
"Look at this," Mattheo pointed to a page. "It mentions a room that can show you your deepest desires."
"The Room of Requirement," Y/n whispered, her eyes wide with realization. "But that's not a secret. Everyone knows about it."
Mattheo shook his head.
"This is different. It says here that this room, hidden somewhere in the castle, can reveal truths about the past. It's called the Chamber of Memories."
Excited by the discovery, they spent hours poring over the book, piecing together the clues. The room was said to be accessible only by those who truly sought knowledge, and it required solving a series of riddles to unlock its secrets.
By the time they decided to leave, they had a rough idea of where the Chamber of Memories might be hidden. As they walked back to their common room, they felt a sense of accomplishment and anticipation.
The next day, they returned to the hidden room, determined to find the Chamber of Memories.
"Alright, here's the first riddle," Y/n said, reading aloud from the book. "'I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?'"
Mattheo leaned back, thinking.
"A riddle about sound... It must be an echo."
"Exactly," Y/n agreed. As she spoke the word, a hidden panel in the wall slid open, revealing a narrow passageway.
