For around another week or so, Yunyun and YN had continued to live together in their new shared residence. While the two had gone out on Quests together as a two member Party every day since, with one of those days involving Cecily again, today was another of those rare occurrences where YN temporarily was with another Party.
It had started with yesterday's endeavors. The two had arrived at the Guild Hall on a slower day, and there was not a single Quest worthy of two Adventurers; only the higher difficulty ones that came with needing to have multiple members were left. These were the kind of Quests that remained hung on the board for a quite a while before a Party with not only enough aptitude, but cohesion felt it a good idea to take on.
Since it was early, Yunyun and YN both decided to simply wait in the Hall to see if something else would be posted later on. The two, especially Yunyun, still very much enjoyed this time together. Either playing cards, or some kind of basic board game, every little interaction with YN, her only friend, really was precious to her.
She just can't stop smiling...
Occasionally sneaking glances at him, the Crimson Demon girl maintained a rosey flush on her face the entire time.
This is all she ever wanted, isn't it? Someone to just spend time with her.
To YN, it still felt like he was doing her a disservice somehow. He too was happy they ended up this way, but he still felt he owed Yunyun more, —that she might still find higher joys than just a single friend she could idly spend time with.
This moment of reflection though was broken by a small commotion at the front of the Hall.
It appeared as if a younger, more novice Party was trying to take on a Quest that Luna was staunchly recommending they not attempt.
Listening in, it was a Quest to slay and retrieve the meat of some wooly-mammoth-like beast.
With a shared glance, Yunyun and YN knew that for today, they'd more than likely be taking on a Quest unofficially that they wouldn't even get payment for.
But, due to their natures, that was okay.
After all, it wasn't like the Guild had a responsibility to ensure the safety of those that were hell-bent on accepting Quests that were way in over their heads. The only safetynet these rookie Adventurers had were the good graces of people like YN and Yunyun who would shadow them and step in once things began to turn out exactly like they'd predicted.
Waiting for the novice Party to leave, the two 'concluded' their game, and departed to follow behind the Party and 'coincidentally appear' if they needed to.
And 'coincidentally appear,' they had to.
It was the actions of that day, that today, YN had gone along with that same Party again as sort of a mentor, while Yunyun had decided to stay back.
"T-There's some chores I could do around the house... A-And I need to run some other errands too."
In truth though, YN knew that Yunyun and himself had been inseparable since the last time he had joined another Party. With the conversation the two had later that evening about being 'a couple,' it was obvious to YN that the length of time since then till now was the reason for Yunyun to want to stay behind.
I know she really wants to come along and still be with me, but I know she still has an apprehension that she thinks she might overwhelm me...
Yunyun had been particularly bound to YN this morning, hanging off his armored arm until they reached the Guild Hall where they'd soon depart.
