Whilst Kazuma went about fiddling with the Railgun, he explained to YN what he had kept from Megumin by covering her ears, and all that he previously had run across regarding that very same topic.

Aqua had given a reincarnated individual a massively broken cheat ability upon his arrival in this world; the ability to create things using just his imagination. Having read a few of his scattered journals, Kazuma had pieced together a few things about this person.

At some point, he had been forced by the old Kingdom that used to rule these lands to make things on their behalf, his most notable creation he had come to find out about was the Mobile Fortress Destroyer.

That explains all the odd things around the Crimson Demon Village, the Mysterious Facility, the cat-girl shine and idol, the stone heads...

Being told all this, YN finally posed a question to Kazuma.

"This guy must have been heavily involved with the Crimson Demons, I take it... Their pretentious-but-cool-likingness probably had a lot to do with them being so welcoming to all the stuff he brought here..."

Theorizing this, Kazuma now looked up to YN and weakly shrugged.

"Actually, it was stuff regarding just that was why I covered Megumin's ears."

Holding his hands up like he was surrendering but in a less serious way, the fellow other-worlder now dropped a bombshell on YN with what he revealed next.

"From the sound of it, according to what was on the text of that ruin, that guy was the one who created the Crimson Demons."

"—?!"

His own eyes of blue going wide at hearing that, such a notion struck YN to his core. Going on, Kazuma explained roughly how it sounded like the reincarnated guy had run genetic experiments on people from the Kingdom he was in to increase their magecraft. Ultimately, the experimentation was a success, and by chance, those with crimson eyes and chuunibyou tendencies were the prime results.

I don't have any way of understanding the science behind what he did to those people, but both of those aspects must have been what was needed for the procedures to be successful...

Given their way of dressing, acting, and appearance, these people, —a new race of magically gifted people, with their high intellect and magical prowess, had asked their creator to give them their tribal name, The Crimson Demons, and even their supposed birthmark tattoos that had been brought up by Megumin earlier into this adventure.

It was upon the Crimson Demon's creation, the Kingdom had asked the reincarnated guy to make the mage-killer. To his dismay though, the Crimson Demons hadn't taken kindly to this, and demanded a countermeasure of their own to the mage-killer, hence the creation of the Railgun Kazuma now held.

Now privy to all this deep lore, admittedly, YN could understand why Kazuma had chosen to keep Megumin ignorant of this. Still, even though this didn't directly affect YN's own sense of self, he was still appalled at such a thing being true.

"—Kazuma, are you... are you really saying Yunyun and Megumin... —that the entire Crimson Demon tribe aren't technically a creation of this world? That... That they're part of some artificially created race?"

"Ugh, I don't know! That's too big of a moral and philosophical question for me to care about at a time like this!"

Frustrated with his stalled progress on the Railgun, Kazuma ran his hands through his hair like he himself was a frenzied madman.

"Go read the text yourself if it's that important to you!"

Not satisfied with the gaps in information that Kazuma's retelling still had, as YN was about to forcefully inquire more about what he remembered, the two were interrupted by a large flash of green light radiating from where the rallied Crimson Demons were fighting off all manner of goblins and Sylvia.
