With only one more additional switch of who was guarding in the night having come about, the two decided it was time to begin traveling again with the rising of the sun. Thankfully as well, Megumin had recovered her strength, and was able to at least walk on her own now.
Before even the sun had reached halfway into the sky to mark noon, YN and Megumin had faced down the large golem that was the target of their Kill-Quest.
Least to say, Megumin's Explosion magic had made quick work of their foe, but it was then up to YN to carry her away from the resounding enemies that had been drawn from around with the defeat of the golem.
At a safe distance away, YN had resorted to once more placing the extremely lethargic Megumin on his shield, and re-using the same spare rope, pulled her along like she was riding a sled.
That entire second day, and the culminating shorter third day together, the two hadn't made even half the amount of conversation they had their first day. While it felt odd to YN that Megumin was suddenly much less talkative, he had no idea it was due to her finding out who he really was.
The Crimson Demon girl, conversely, was silent because she knew this juggernaut had a motive that clearly was hung on someone she knew well, but couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly.
Arriving back in Axel though, they split their bounty payment fifty-fifty, and with an exchanged thanks and goodbye, the two went their seperate ways.
That Quest really has me beat from all that walking... I think I'll take a day to rest and then get back at it. I'm making a dent in the debt I owe, but I still need enough Eris on hand to sustain myself too.
Many of the Adventurers who were better off in Axel had access to, and could afford what were essentially dorms in these private hospices. Some rooms were shared, some were entirely private, where some others were essentially shared common areas with only small cots separated by curtains.
Thankfully, due to YN's relatively better success here in Axel now, alongside his debt payments, he could at the least comfortably afford his own room in one of the nicer, almost apartment-like joints that catered to career Adventurers. It was cheaper, quieter, and cleaner than, say, a room at an inn, but that was mostly due to not having any sort of house-keeping service also used at an inn.
YN knew resting this new body of his was important, after all, he couldn't afford to screw up and risk a prolonged injury if he wanted to reach his greater goals.
However, this world really left little in the way of self entertainment, spare drinking, taking a walk, or old fashioned books.
Might as well educate myself on this world more...
Leaving his window open for a pleasant breeze, the coming and goings of Adventurers who also were boarding in this shared residence could be heard as they walked by.
"—Did you hear about those two Archwizard girl's ran into a demon of all things? Just outside the city walls. Apparently it's really strong... and almost as big as those huge frogs that show up every Spring!"
"Oh yeah I did. It's got the Guild staff all in a tizzy. They think the only person in the entire town that can deal with it was this blue haired Arch-Priest girl that registered as a brand new Adventurer just a few days prior. She had some crazy high stats."
"Yeah I was gonna get to that part! Apparently there's a huge reward out for whoever finds her so the Guild can call upon her to help."
"Count me in! Say, isn't there someone in this building who has blue hair...?"
Overhearing this conversation, YN had his involvement in it piqued when they mention his new hair color. Getting up quietly, he shut the windows and closed the blinds, not wanting any undue attention whatsoever.
