"Hey Mob, you see that girl over there?"
"Yeah?"
"She's my girlfriend,"
Gazing across the street, the golden hour hit Mob's eyes so that he had to squint. Nearly catching the glimpse of a uniform skirt. Judging by it, she must've gone to high school, maybe a year or two older. He covered his eyes from the sun and nodded, "Oh really?"
"Yeah, she just doesn't know yet. I'll tell her once I'm in high school," Teru, dazzled by the beauty of the girl, endured the light which struck his eyes.
Mob placed a hand over his eyes, which widen in sudden interest, "Oh, I didn't know you could do that," he muttered to Teru.
"Yeah, and someday," Teru stated confidently, nodding Mobs shoulder playfully. Mob chuckled, narrowing his eyes and at last seen the girl at the other side of the street, waiting for the light to turn green.
Having turned away from the subject, Teru busied himself in other topics, "So like I was saying, this—"
𝔹𝔼𝔼ℙ! 𝔹𝔼𝔼ℙ! ℍ𝕆ℕ𝕂!
But Mob who had turned to take a final glance realized that the girl was rushing down the street after letting the younger kids pass first. She had little time to cross, it would have been a wiser choice to wait for the next light, but whatever possessed her to think she could make it to the other side in time clearly didn't care. "WH-WHAT OUT!"
And suddenly it was dark.
It didn't take long for Mob go realize the darkness came from the color of his hair set on his eyes, unraveled and somewhat sweaty from the adrenaline rush. "Hey, kid! Are you okay?!" A voice he had never heard before called out. It was feminine, and pleasant.
With a groan, he managed to get up at the sound of a more family voice, "Gosh, Mob! Come on man, I'll help you up".
"Yeah... Thanks Teru.."
"Why did you jump to save me like that? You risked your life-- that was very stupid!"
Turning his head, Mob came face to face with the girl Teru and him had been gazing at. Her skin glimmered in the sun, her eyes were like jewels, and her hair was messy from the fall. Disoriented, Mob failed to notice all of this traits; "Are you hurt?"
"No..." the girl shook her head and gazed down at his arm, which still held onto hers tightly. It had all happened to fast, and he had pulled her into the sidewalk so bravely. For a kid who appeared so plain, she was genuinely impressed by his heroic spirit. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have shouted like that; I was scared," she placed a hand on his, his grip losen. "Please let me take care of you," she offered.
Mob shook his head, but the dizziness of the fall lingered. In the background, he could hear Teru speak into his phone, "...Everything is fine...Luckily just a jump scare...It was close... yeah ye--.." his eyes widening upon the scene. His cheeks turned pink, and he cleared his throath, "--Yes, I-I'm here..."
"No, my master is also in the area. He'll take care of me," Mob assured with a small smile.
"Are you sure?" Her eyes narrowed with worry.
"I'm sure,"
"Can I see your phone?"
"Sure, here it is,"
Before Mob knew it, his phone was back on his hands. "There, that's my number," she explained. Her phone rang, and she smiled. "Call me once you get medical treatment. If you have any trouble, please let me know," pulling out her own phone, Mob noticed a couple of stickers which decorated it, "Oh and, one more thing— What's your name?"
"Kageyama Shigeo, but my friends just call me Mob.."
"Thank you Shigeo-kun," she said, offering a rub on his head. Mob closed his eyes, not expecting the touch, but feeling thankful for it because it took the dizziness away. A pair of lips touched his cheek. His face turned all shades of red, and he fumbled over his words suddenly.
"...Where...answer...drive and talk...Hanazawa!" Teru had no response too, his jaw just dropped to the floor with the phone.
The young lady offered a bow as thanks, "Take care now you two, and thank you..". Teru came rushing to help Mob, whose dizziness had came back, stand. Before long, she was gone, and the light of the world settled around once more. Looking around, Mob could distinguish the faces of locals he knew with worried glances and small chats that had popped here and there-- Had they all been there from the beginning? Nobody seemed interested in what had happened with the young lady in the slightest. They all seemed alarmed at Mobs state of shock.
"That was an unexpected fall, are you alright sweetheart? 'Need anything?" An elderly lady asked.
"Yeah Mob, if you do just ask. Reigen should be here any moment now," Teru, more focused on the situation now, assured him with a pat on the back before returning to apace to the crowd.
"Which fall?" Mob blinked a couple of times, his heart pounded in his ears, and his cheek was stained with pink. The old woman chuckled, bringing him back from those glossy lips against his cheek. "No thanks...I'm good. I'm-" he covered his flustered face. But, something of greater concern washed over Mob suddenly upon seen Teru, who looked back upon seen his startled face; "Teru, I'm sorry. I think um.. I'm sorry that your girlfriend kis-kissed me!"
