Clara goes into the bullpen, looking around and smiling when she spots her dad. She hurries over to his desk, basically skipping, easily getting attention of the other agents.
Spencer looks up when he hears the quick movement, his lips quirking up at his daughter's excited state.
"Dad." She calls, finally getting to his desk. "Can you sign this?" She puts a piece of paper down on his desk.
"Hi, Clary. It's nice to see you too." Spencer chuckles.
"Hi. Can you sign this?" Clara asks, sliding the paper closer.
"What is it?" Spencer asks, writing down the last few details to the file in front of him.
"Permission slip for a field trip." Clara says.
"Where?" Spencer asks.
"Amusement park. It's for the whole reading points thing." Clara says. "So can you sign it. Please? All my friends are going."
Spencer reads over the paper before looking up at his child's hopeful smile and puppy eyes.
"Yeah, you can go." Spencer says making the girl grin.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you." She squeals, wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him. Spencer softly laughs, rubbing her arm. She pulls away after a minute, letting Spencer sign the paper.
"Oh, and one more thing." Clara says.
"You need money." Spencer assumes. Clara freezes for a moment.
"Two more things." Clara says. "Yes to the money. And also in a couple of weeks, Luke invited me, Erin, and Izzy on a weekend trip. Can I go to that?"
"You're 14. Who's driving?" Spencer asks.
"Luke's dad is gonna take us." Clara answers.
"Just Luke's dad? Nobody else?" Spencer asks and Clara nods. "Then no."
"Wha-- but dad. You know his dad, you like him. You're... kind of friends. You're close enough." Clara says.
"No." Spencer repeats.
"Dad, come on. I know about the dangers and everything, I've almost been through the dangers."
"That does anything but help your case." Spencer states.
"But I know how to fight." Clara states.
"A 40 something year old man is still stronger than a 14 year old girl." Spencer says, giving her a look. "His mom?"
"His mom's a nurse, she can't get the time off." Clara whines. "What if Izzy's mom went?"
"No." Spencer answers.
"But she's a woman. That's the whole issue, right?"
"That's part of the issue, even though, trust me, women can be just as evil. It's not happening." Spencer states.
"What's wrong with Izzy's mom?" Clara asks.
"She's not nice. She's always giving us dirty looks, especially the past couple of years. She's uptight and... rude. Plus, based off how Isabelle acts, she doesn't seem like the best mom. If she can't treat Isabelle right, she's not gonna treat you, Erin, or Luke right. Last thing I'm doing is leaving her in charge of you." Spencer says.
"You profile my friends?" Clara asks.
"I profile everybody you talk to." Spencer says as if it's obvious. "It's why I trust your friends."
"How long have you been profiling my friends and their parents?" Clara asks.
"Ever since I met them. Every time I see any of them, see if there's any changes." Spencer says.
