From the window of their apartment, Tan saw Fang parking his car. Tan waved at him and called his name, but Fang was already so tired that he didn't even hear him, so he just entered the condo. Tan waited patiently in the living room, but after a while he noticed that Fang was taking strangely too much time to get home. He opened the door and found Fang and Fai talking.
Fang heard the noise of the door opening and so he turned. Tan looked down and went back inside the flat, leaving the door open. Fang sighed heavily, he thanked Fai for what he told him and then went inside his home.
"I suppose that you prefer to greet Fai first rather than your boyfriend. You didn't even waved back when you arrived..." Tan said. As he got no response, he looked up and realized that Fang wasn't really happy to receive that treatment right after coming back home from another exhausting workday. Fang sighed heavily and sat down next to Tan.
"Tan... I get that you're jealous, but this has to stop. Fai stopped me because she heard you cry right after you came back home. I suppose that it was just a bad interview but you can't really blame her for getting worried. Do you want to tell me what happened?" Fang asked. Tan gulped. He opened his mouth, trying to say the truth, but he only managed to say:
"N... no it's just... ummm... I was simply so nervous and I suppose I just had to vent a little bit... nothing to worry about"
"Thank god, I thought they humiliated you or made inappropriate questions. I heard this sadly happens quite often. Well, you don't have to worry about it, I'm sure that sooner or later you will get other interviews, right? I'll take a shower..." Fang said and got off the couch.
After a few steps he turned back, smirked at Tan and asked:
"Or maybe WE could take a shower..."
What was supposed to be just a slightly cringe and sexy offer, basically froze Tan in place. He had to react fast if he didn't want Fang to get suspicious, so he replied teasingly:
"Are you implying that I stink? I got a shower just before preparing dinner, I'm good"
While Fang went to the bathroom, Tan went to their dear neighbor and knocked on her door. Fai opened the door and she looked preoccupied when she saw Tan.
"Are you alright? I told Fang that-"
"I thought you said that you would have stayed out of our business, I would deeply appreciate if you act that way instead of just promising it"
"I... I'm sorry Tan, I just thought that Fang would..."
"Fang is already busy enough with his own problems. It isn't necessary to make that burden even heavier with problems that I can fix on my own. Next time, if you really feel like helping a crying person, you could talk to them instead of informing their partner just to look as a good person..." Tan replied. His soul felt heavier and heavier word after word, then why was he doing that?
