When Fang came back home with the food, Tan didn't notice any change in Fang's behavior. Actually, he noticed that he seemed a little more stressed than usual, but he didn't pay too much attention to it, thinking that after Kim had solved the problem, Fang would have immediately felt better. In the meanwhile Tan didn't know what to do. His mind was still stuck with that email that said that the company wanted to hire him, and he knew that he couldn't really delay the response to that any longer.

The following morning, Fang left to go to work. Tan noticed that his beloved boyfriend looked a little bit paler, but as he tried to talk about it, Fang simply responded that he didn't sleep that well and that a coffee would have easily fixed it, then he left.

A few hours later, Tan's phone started ringing.

"Hello?" Tan said.

"Hello Tan, it's Porchay"

"Oh, hi Porchay, nice to hear you again. What may I do for you?" Tan asked. He did his best to sound as polite as possible, but he didn't really feel that comfortable talking to any member of Kim's family. That time he met them, he felt like they were kind to him, but that even the tiniest mistake could make him regret crossing their path.

"If you want that job, you can accept it now. Kim sent his lawyer to Mark and they managed to solve the problem. You won't meet him anymore, neither at work nor outside" Porchay said calmly, although the last sentence made Tan feel that maybe they killed him.

"T- thank you very much. May I know how..."

"Kim didn't tell me much about it. I simply know that he sent the same lawyer that handled my case some time ago. If you want to know more about it, I can tell my husband that you would like to meet him tomorrow" Porchay replied.

"You don't have to bother him, I know you both are really busy... thank you again for your kindness..." Tan said stuttering and gulping as the images he saw in mafia movies played in his head.

"Are you sure you're alright? Sorry... this was such a stupid question. It takes time to move on from such terrible experiences. Anyway, if you don't want to work for that company because that place reminds you of Mark, I'm sure that Kim could find a nice and well paid job for you"

"I... I really wouldn't dare to ask him anything like that... you've already done a lot..." Tan replied stuttering even more. Why was that phone call so long? Porchay gave him the news, there was no need to continue.

"It wouldn't be a problem, Tan, but since you don't want to accept my offer, I won't bother you any longer. To be honest, I kind of admire you. Since the accident, I didn't dare to go back to the place where it happened. Anyway, remember that you have people who love you and support you, and if that isn't enough, be assured that the bastard will pay in prison for what he did" Porchay added, told him good bye and hung up the phone.

After hearing that last part, Tan sighed in relief. At least he didn't have to think that he was partially responsible for the death of a man, despite the harm that said man caused before.
