my dream maker, my heart breaker

devin and elena sat outside her house, waiting for devin's brother to come pick him up. the two sat in silence, the "talk" mentioned earlier on both of their minds.

"do you want to talk about it now?" devin asks her, as much as he mistreated her at times, this moment still hurt him deeply.

elena nods "yeah I think we need to." both of them look forward, ready to speak their minds. "i'll start?" he volunteers, elena agrees and prepares herself.

"I think that you're starting to lose feelings, and it's not your fault, I know I haven't been the best boyfriend to you. I wish I could've changed myself for the better before it was too late." he takes a moment to take a deep breath before continuing.

"I know you and nelson have a thing going on, i'm not saying you cheated or anything, i'm just saying like it's obvious you feel something for him. he's always felt some type of way about you and that's why I was always worried. I just want you to be happy and if I can't provide that then I have to let you go."

elena ponders in her head, she has no idea what to say. all that comes to her mind is that they are going to be broken up by the end of this conversation.

"I'm not going to lie to you, me and nelson have been talking a lot recently. but I didn't disrespect you in any way other than talking to him when you asked me not to, which I apologize for."

a part of her wished that they would work it out and make up, but she had to face reality.

"are you saying you want to breakup?" she asked the boy, whatever he answers determines if she starts bawling or not.

"I'm not saying I want to ej, i'm saying maybe it's needed and for the best, that doesn't mean we can't get back together in the future, it doesn't mean we're done for good." devin looks down, a sad look on his face.

tears start rolling down elena's face, she thought this would bring her relief but all she feels is heartbreak.

"I don't wanna say bye to each other for good, you were my bestfriend before anything." she repeatedly wipes her tears, they were never ending.

"we are still bestfriends, sometimes people just don't work out as couples and that's okay." he reaches over and grabs elena's hand, lightly rubbing the back with his thumb.

"so we're broken up?" for the first time they make eye contact, both with a sad look in their eyes. devin nods.

lights are seen and kiyan's car appears infront of her her house. devin sighs, standing up, elena as well. he brings her hand to his lips and gives it a kiss.

"I love you elena, and if we get to the point where we're ready to try again then we will, if not then i'll always be your bestfriend okay?" elena pulls devin in for a hug, they hold eachother for a few seconds before kiyan honks his car.

"I love you too devin."

"it's okay ej, don't cry." emren rubbed his sister's back as she laid her head on his lap. he's a boy, he barely knew what to do in this situation, plus it's elena's first breakup.

the vulnerable girl continues to cry, after she explained everything to her twin she went into this state of sadness. emren stays quiet, waiting for his mom to get home, he doesn't want to leave his sister alone.

all he can do is comfort her. it's weird, he has been waiting for them to end things for forever, but now it's not how he pictured it, it stings more than it should.

lauara navarro walks into her daughter's room with the most sympathetic look on her face. she seen this coming, and she already prepared.

"my poor baby" she goes to take emren's place as he stands up. emren gives his sister a sad smile, he quietly leaves the room. he sighs, throwing himself on his bed, he still couldn't believe it.

"you don't have to say anything, I know mama" laura continues caressing her daughter's hair and wiping her tears for her.

elena stays silent but she's never been more grateful to have her mom by her side. she needed her.

laura knows elena is young, and she knows elena will eventually move on from it. but for right now, she had to help her daughter through a new experience.

elena's chest hurt, they had been doing so good and she genuinely saw things turning around. all the good times outweighed the bad, she just didn't see herself moving on for awhile.

devin and elena officially broke up.
