After the game which the Thrashers won, I walked out to see that blonde haired boy I knew since I was 16.

"Hey there stranger." He laughed, I playfully punched him in the arm.

"Hey to you too." I replied with a smile to the blonde boy, all the memories came rushing back to me.

"I haven't seen you in forever." Jase said trying to keep alive our dry attempt at small talk.

"Same here, how have you been?" I questioned, never would I have thought I would see this boy again especially after the kiss.

"Well, I went 1st overall for the Thrashers if you couldn't tell." He laughed, I nodded my head in response with a little laugh. "How about you?" He asked.

"Not much since World Juniors, I ref some NHL and AHL games here and there." I explained, Jase was living the life of a very successful, young, 1st overall draft pick.

"Boyfriend?" Jase questioned as we had walked out of the stadium by now, I almost laughed at the question.

"No, currently too busy for one." I spoke, "you got a girlfriend?" I asked right back at him, Jase made a 'it's complicated' face, I nodded in agreement.

"Not a lot of girls here for me if I'm being honest." Jase spoke truthfully, we had made it to the parking lot, I didn't want to leave I wanted to stay to talk to him.

"Well this is my stop." I giggled, stopping by my car. Jase stopped and turned towards me.

"Me and some of the boys are going to a bar tonight on 112th street, you should come." Jase offered, was I getting invited to a party?

"I'll think about it." I answered, I hopped into my car and drove home.

"Boyfriend?" I asked Alessandra, she quickly responded with "no, currently too busy for one." Yes I thought to myself, the girl I have been in love with since I was 16 years old was single, tonight was my chance to get her back.

"You got a girlfriend?" She questioned me, "Not a lot of girls here for me if I'm being honest." I somewhat laughed, the truth was I couldn't stop thinking about her, I only wanted her, many girls tried to make me forget about it but it never worked.

"This is my stop." Alessandra spoke breaking the silence with the perfect sound of her laughing.

"Me and some of the boys are going to a bar tonight on 112th street, you should come." I offered, flashbacks from the last time we went to a party came rushing back to me like it was just yesterday.

"I'll think about it." Alessandra replied, I hoped and prayed she would come, I haven't seen her in three years all I wanted was to hang out with her.

"See ya." I waved, and walked to my car, once I made it to my car I couldn't stop replaying the whole scene in my mind over and over again.

"Can't believe I just did that." I spoke, breathing heavily, my heart beating fast. I raised my shaky hands to put them onto the steering wheel and drive home.

It had been a few hours since Jase's offer of going to a bar with him and his large ego friends.

"What do you think I should do?" I asked Honey my best friend, she has been invested in the whole Jase situation for years.

"Well do you want to go?" Questioned Honey, I thought about it, hanging out with a bunch of sweaty NHL players in a small bar, sure why not.

"Why the hell not." I shrugged, Honey laughed over the other line. I hadn't seen Honey since college when she moved to Toronto.

"Have fun, and you better send me what your going to wear, so we can change it cause god knows you don't know how to make a going out outfit." Honey joked, I laughed, "bye now." I said before I hung up. I went to my closet to look for something to wear.

"Why do I literally have nothing to wear?" I questioned myself staring into my closet, I grabbed the only things I thought would look good. A sliver dress, with a pair of hoop earrings, a random necklace that I most likely stole from Honey, sliver kitten heels cause I didn't want to tower over every guy I met with Jase that wouldn't be a problem, and a random black handbag.

"This should do." I sighed whilst looking at myself in the mirror. I took a nervous breath before walking out to my car, 112th street here I come!

***

I held a bud light beer in my hand, I couldn't step away from the window I needed to know she was coming.

"Is that?" I questioned myself, Alessandra's car pulled up I was shocked she would even come but there she was.

"Dude she's not going to come, have fun!" Said of my teammates, I looked to him and rolled my eyes.

"Oh yeah? Then who's that?" I asked pointing to Alessandra, my teammate walked away accepting his defeat, I walked over to the door of the bar.

"Hey there." I smiled, Alessandra jumped a little.

"Don't do that ever again! You scared me!" She playfully hit me with her bag, I couldn't help but laugh at the whole situation.

"I'm sorry!" I said still laughing throwing up my hands in defeat, "c'mon I'll buy you a drink." I offered, I walked over to the bartender Alessandra following close behind.

"Hey man what can I get you?" A small redhead woman asked, I looked over to Alessandra. "A Margarita please." The redhead woman nodded her head quickly getting her drink ready for her.

"Here you are, enjoy." The redhead woman said, "thanks." Alessandra replied, we walked over to a table nearby that was available.

"So you went first overall." Alessandra spoke starting up a conversation.

"Yes, yes I did, I was very surprised honestly." I laughed, Alessandra gave a little laugh and a smile. God she's perfect I thought to myself, she hadn't changed much since World Juniors, when I kissed her on live TV which she wasn't too impressed about.

"I'm shocked hearing that from you." She said, "and why's that?" I questioned, Alessandra say up a little more straight like she was about to give me a whole breakdown on a topic I didn't understand. "Well I mean you were the best on the team and there was no denying that." She started, I quickly cut her off, "woah, woah there, I wasn't the best on the team... YOU were all the coaches said so." Alessandra looked sadden by my statement.

"Yeah well, I can't play in any leagues, I guess I wasn't that good if I couldn't." In that moment everything made sense, no wonder why she always was reffing the games, she couldn't play, she wasn't allowed she wanted a little bit of the sport even if it was only reffing.

"I'm sorry Alessandra, I didn't know."  She gave me a small smile, which I returned.

"I think I'm going to go now, I got a game to ref in the morning." I didn't want her to leave, I wanted her to stay so we could talk more, I missed having these talks.

"I'll walk you to your car." I offered, she smiled, "thanks." I smiled back.
