In my head

Chapter 4

I sat at the table with everyone. They all seemed so nice. It was lovely to feel wanted for once. Every other school I've been pushed around like a rag doll. This just feels nice.

Every now and then I look over to Jake. He's so perfect. He's standing with his friends just talking and laughing. I feel bed staring but what can I say.

Once the bell goes i head off to history. I'm in the top class for that and it's with all the new people I met today. Joy shows me the way.
"Hey, Charlotte" the familiar voice speaks behind me. I turn around immediately lost in his eyes.
I smile at him. "Well, how's your first day going so far?" He asks as I realise I've been staring and haven't answered.
"Ummm, good, really good. It's been good. I met some people and I think I'm fitting in real good." I finally answer. Omg, I just good so many times. Please don't notice.

He chuckles slightly. "That's good. I'll see you around." He winks at me and walks away. His friends patting him on his back. Jake looks back at me and smiles before Turing away once again.
"I see you met the one and only, Jake Edwards." Jason says. "Yeah, he's nice. Good looking too." "watch your back Charlotte. He's trouble." He says with a worried look on his face.
I nod and walk into the classroom.

History is history. I love it but I can't concentrate I'm so focused on what Jason said. Was he serious or just messing with me? He looked pretty serious but Jake doesn't seem that bad. Maybe that's his way of getting to me.

Before I know it the school day is over and I am in the bus home. I sit in the place I sat in this morning towards the back. I realise Jake walks past me and sits at the very back looking down at his phone.
Ohhhh so thats who it was this morning.

He looks up from his phone and smirks at me. I quickly turn around feeling the red crawl up my neck. Someone slides into the seat beside me. I turn to face Jake.

"I see you staring a lot." He stares at me. "Must because I'm so attractive". I laugh to myself before looking up to him "must be" he smirks and walks back to his mates.

Before I know it someone else had sat next to me and someone else in the front seat facing me. I look to me left to find Jason staring at me. "What you two talking about?" He asks. "Nothing." "I'm serious be careful." I look down at my lap. Actually scared of might happen if I keep talking to Jake.

"Anyway this is Aaron" he points to the guy in front of me who has a smirk playing on his lips.
"Hi, I'm Charlotte" "hey. I saw you get on this morning I get off at the same spot. So we could home together if you want?" I look at him for a while. He's dark skinned with dark brown hair and bushy eyebrows. He's got an accent too and his smile is cheeky. "Yeah, sure"

We get off the bus and walk through the passage way between the shops. We walk down to the train station and cross it with caution. We both stop. "Well this is me I go through there and you go down the hill" "you know I've lived in my house for a few months and not once have ever seen you before." I say.
"I don't go out much" he simply says.
We say our goodbyes and go our separate ways.
