I wake up to an ear piercing noise. I roll over and slam my fist against my alarm clock. Stupid thing wake me up every morning at 7am. Even on weekends.
It's been 2 months since I've been at my new school and Jason's words keep repeating in my head. They just won't leave. I feel like I should be careful and watch my back. Jake doesn't seem bad but that could just be him trying to get to me and then play whatever game he has going on.
I find myself walking up to the front gates of my school. I turn around and realize I just hopped off the bus. Must have been so caught up in my thoughts I didn't even notice getting on in the first place. Aaron walks up behind me and slings his arm around my shoulders. Its not uncomfortable but it does feel strange I've never been this close to a boy before.
"Morning, you look like you could do with one more year of sleep" he says. "I feel like I need a few" I reply. "What's up?" he questions. "Jason is what's up. he told me to stay away from Jake, but I like Jake as in a friend he seems nice. Jason said that he's trouble and that I should watch my back." I said. "Maybe you should listen to him. Jake plays with girls minds and I'd hate to see you get hurt". And with that he left.
I'm walking down to the basketball courts when I hear someone call my name. I turn around to see Jake walking towards me with his group of friends. One of them I do not like the look of at all. Anthony I believe his name is.
"Morning beautiful, how'd you sleep?" looking at my features I'm guessing he knows the answer to his question. "I slept alright. Could have been better though. You?" I asked. Anthony was full on staring at me and it was freaking me out. I've heard that he does drugs but I'm not 100% sure.
"I slept fine. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out this weekend if you wanted to?" Jake asked. hold up did he ask me out? "you don't have to if you don't wa-" "sure why not. Just as friends" I gave him my phone and told him to put his number in it and that I'll text him first.
*******************************************Friday Night**********************************************
shit! I totally forgot I have to text Jake.
To Jake: hey, Charlotte here. What you doing?
In split seconds my phone was buzzing.
From Jake: hey, Char. nothing much doing a movie night by myself. You?
As I read the text my heart fluttered. No one has called me Char before not even my parents call me that, it's always Charlotte.
To Jake: same as you. Got a stack of movies to get through and I pile of lollies, chips, and chocolate!
From Jake: your gonna eat all that by yourself?
To Jake: no, probably not. No one was free so I'm by myself. Parents are out at work. Home Alone.
From Jake: ok coming over now, be there in 10 ;)
I stared at my phone for a few minutes with my jaw on the floor. I've been at this school for a good 2 months. And I have a boy coming over and he's a few years older than me. If my parents found out I would be dead.
From Jake: be ready.
I was shaking. I barely knew the guy. He was so nice though. So far what Jason said hasn't happened yet. I'm kind of looking forward to this.
I quickly jumped off my bed and ran into my wardrobe. I threw on my grey trackies, checkered flannel and black socks. I tied my hair up into a messy bun. I ran around cleaning my room and making sure everything was all good. This was the first time a boy would ever be coming over to my new house, well by himself.
As I was done the doorbell echoed through the house.
